It's supposed to be 12/9, the same day as the B&B Christmas Tasting. No clue if any will trickle out early, but it's at least confirmed to be available that day.

Having Rodenbach Grand Cru all over the place is great. I got a bottle today to drink tomorrow-it'll be the third one I've gotten in a month. La Folie is a tough sell with Grand Cru sitting on the shelves at $6-7 less per bottle.

Are you guys cellaring or fridging your BCBCS?

Heard the low limits are because GI moved all their barrels to a new location and that next year we'll get even more (of all variants, minus Prop) than last year. No idea about the validity of that. Have heard a lot of stuff about GI that turns out to be BS, even when it comes from their own people.

Cellaring. Maybe the cooler temp of the fridge would stunt conditioning which could be killing the coffee?
Regardless I've learned that most beers just simply taste best fresh, coffee beers in particular. So I'm going to back off significantly on aging beers. I just had a 2 year old Big John, which I really like fresh, but after 2 years it had this weird prune flavor to it. It actually reminded me a bit of the Black Butte Anniversary beers. Which are alright I guess, but I like fresh Big John better. And the aforementioned year old KBS, it was a very tasty smooth stout, but both the coffee and bourbon were significantly muted. Why go through all that trouble getting a beer and aging it just to have it turn out like a good stout I can get most any time locally?
There's only a small handful that I thought were comparable aged as opposed to fresh. Not better, different, but still really good. 2012 Rumpkin for instance.

And sorry to the Co. Springs folks for hijacking the thread. But if you pay attention to the Mnt board at all, you had to have known it was coming

I was dead set on not giving a shit this year about BCBS... then I opened my last '13 BCBCS with breakfast this morning and now I want more so badly! Damn you GI for making such incredible beer.

Got a major lead on BCBS everybody.... Tomorrow Mile High W&S is doing a ticketed release for ONE single bottle of BCBS per person (no BCBW).... I can hardly believe it!!! Don't all rush there at once, I want a shot at a single bottle!!!!

    From Mr. B's FB page:

Goose Island Brewery BOURBON COUNTY UPDATE: Unfortunately, our distributor made some mistakes and sold our lone case of Bourbon County Barleywine to a different store...so we will not have the barley wine, but we will still have Bourbon County Brand Stout available on Black Friday at Noon and the limit is one 4 pack/person. Again, I apologize for this and I hope to see you on Friday.
    --
Along these lines, any stores with limit of more than 1 BCBBW?

Yup pretty much not even worth my time at this point when I know I can just trade for it once everything cools off.

It just doesn't make sense we got all the variants minus prop last year. This year no barely wine, no coffee, no vanilla. How the hell did this happen when bc production was supposed to be way up. Still want it but this is bullshit.

Couldn't give less of a fuck about this release tomorrow. See any other sane, smart people at Comrade and Station 26 for their (I'm sure fantastic) RIS releases.

Yeah, when's the last time anyone bought a sixer of Honkers? Or their IPA? I haven't bought any of their regular beers since they sold out. There are too many other quality breweries out there to get an eight month old six pack of Winter Mild.
