Line doesn't really get too long. I think even people that got there at 9 were able to get stuff.

imo the coffee really stands out this year. Better than the vanilla rye

Agreed. Pleasantly surprised for sure. Would also give coffee the edge

Quiet as a cemetery compared to their Anniversary event. Weather got everyone spooked? Nice to see a couple of familiar faces.

Meant in the fact the store has to order that like it's a bad thing. NJ stores would kill to order even 5 cases let alone 10-15 of regular BCBS. Big stores got this year 2 cases regular, 1 coffee, 1 barleywine and a handful got Vanilla (understandable on the last 3)

I hope Goose gets their crap together with distribution. Do the state distributors not communicate about how well it's selling or sitting on shelves?

One Mile House event was excellent. I got there at 3pm with some friends and had bottles of both Vanilla and Coffee. The staff was excellent, crowd was minimal and it was easy to get everything on draft at 5 when they tapped all the kegs. As expected with these guys, great event.

Vanilla was fantastic, but I thought the coffee was the most balanced and my favorite. Much less heat on all the 2014 releases.

I left at 6:15 and everything was still pouring...go check it out if you're in NYC

The One Mile House event was fantastic. Got there a little after 3, had bottles of vanilla, coffee, and backyard, drafts of vanilla, coffee, and barleywine.

Vanilla is awesome, as expected. The coffee is a lot better than last year's version IMO, but the barleywine the opposite.

I'm really surprised that people thought this years coffee was better. It just tasted like a bourbon barrel aged stout that was mixed with coffee where last year, the coffee really meshed with the beer. I thought Vanilla was much better for 2014 although it got pretty sweet as it warmed.

Coffee was still on tap at 10pm... Place was half empty. Chilliest BC tapping ever.

Echoing all the comments of a chill BCBS event. Started off with a bottle of Vanilla Rye and Coffee at 4:15ish and bid my time until they all tapped at 5.

Vanilla Rye - the vanilla, which reminded me of a softer Tahitian rather than Madagascar, really whaffed out of the glass followed by a light oak presence which I was surprised about. The mouthfeel was over-the-top decadent. I think my check-in was if velvet and silk had sex, it would feel like this beer. Alcohol burn on the finish and a dryness as well from the Rye. It was exceptional.

Coffee - by far, they're best reprise out of all previous years of coffee. It is the strongest brew they've used which contributed quality roasted notes without the char. It easier had the least alcohol burn as the others and now quite as velvety as the Vanilla Rye. My favorite of the lot. I really hope they bring bags of this to the Top Hops event like last year...I'm curious to brew the coffee on its own.

Bourbon County - lighter body and sweeter to me than in years past. Still, that's splitting hairs and is a quality bourbon barrel stout. The alcohol burn on this one was the most pronounced indicating it may need some time before its prime.

Barley wine - didn't get to it last night. My palate was shot and I wanted to do the beer justice.

Bourbon County Cuvée - ok, I was slightly buzzed and decided to do some blending. I went with a Vanilla Rye base of 4oz then added 1oz Coffee and .5oz BCBS. It was super hot, but took the sweetness down a little bit. In hindsight, I think a Coffee base with 1oz Vanilla and a touch of BCBS may be the best mixture.

The food at One Mile House was stellar as always. Chef Rob cooked up a special dish for the event (can't remember the exact name, but it was Goose stuffed in goose wrapped in goose in a goose reduction made from BCBS). All in all, the staff was fantastic, the crowd was orderly and I was out by 7:15. Gerry definitely knows his shit when it comes to these events.
