Yeah I'm sitting here drinking one now and "average" is the last word I would use to describe it. I don't think there is anything average about it. It is without a doubt the king of BBA Stouts.

Yeah. I work at a beer store in Maryland that I consider to be quite overpriced, and we are selling singles of BCBS for $8 and 4 packs for $26. Just to give you some perspective, most of our products are $3-5 more expensive than you would pay at Total Wine in Virginia, which is roughly 10 miles away.

I was fortunate enough to know a friend who knows a friend who was able to buy a case of BCBS ahead of release. Anxious to try some of this out... also anxious to see how it compares to Pirate Bomb which I also have in my fridge waiting to try...

I think it just depends on how seriously the R people take the S.

Total Wine in Newport News, VA has 24 cases of original and one case of coffee and barley wine. Limit is one 4 pack of original and one 12oz bottle of variants. The Wine Seller up in Williamsburg rec'd some Goise Island goodness as well. Happy hunting! Stay safe.

Just got back from Norfolk and it was the same numbers/restrictions as Newport News. 4 pks were $23 and the individuals were $5 for BW and $6 for Coffee. I was excited the individuals weren't $10 a bottle!

I just paid $24.99 for a 4 pack of the regular bcbs and $24.99 for the barleywine as well in Salinas, CA.
Last year I paid $19.99 a 4 pack in Los Angeles county.

I'm jealous of your Vanilla. I was told that my local store would have Vanilla rye and when I got there they said "sure, we have Vanilla" but when they returned from the back of the store what they brought me was the Backyard Rye from last year. I still have a bottle of the backyard rye from last year and while I liked it, I felt it was a little heavy on the jammy character. They charged me $26 for it but I'd picked it up in FL last year for $19 so that means my distro decided they should charge more despite the fact that THEY paid last years price. I also picked up 1 4pk of BCBW $30.55 after tax, got that in FL last fall for $20. The regular bourbon county cost me $27 this year and $20 last year.

Anyone know why the ABV would be lower this year?

You will love that Pirate Bomb but I would suggest you take it out of fridge and let it warm slightly before drinking. I got a case of the bcbs yesterday. I live in Texas where most stores have a 1 limit per customer on rare beers. They don't do it like that in Oklahoma. The guy told me I can buy as many as I want

@Donco the only thing I can figure for the drop in abv is so that they can get it into more markets. The 13.8% this year means that this is the first sight of BCBS in GA, and I imagine other markets have 14% abv cap as well.

The extent of my Black Friday shopping. One of my local beer stores posted they had it at 930am and I had everything in hand by 945am. $23 for the 4 pack and $8 for the coffee.
