So I went to my usual beer store and all I could get was one 4 pack of the BCBS and 2 bottles of coffee stout. I missed out on the Vanilla Rye as they were already spoken for. On the way home, I decide to stop at a bunch of other places to see if I could find some more coffee. Stopped at Wegman's...walked out with 2 4-packs of BCBS. Then on a whim, I stopped off at a smaller local liquor store and saw they had a couple of bottles of coffee stout (obviously I snagged them) and another 4-pack of BCBS for good measure. I asked if they had any more bottles of the coffee stout as I expected they didn't have all of the variants and the woman says, "No, I'm out of that, but I do have a Vanilla one....I think." Sure enough she pulls out a Vanilla Rye! My journey didn't stop there, I figured I'd see if one more liquor store near me had some Bourbon County. I was also greeted with another 4 pack of BCBS, 1 bottle of coffee stout, 1 bottle of barleywine, a 2013 bcbs, and 2013 BCBBWS. Overall it was a good day.

Thanks for that info! So far today I have been to two other local stores that have gotten BCBS in the past. Both say their regular has been delayed by the "supplier" until in one case 5 PM today (when the store had already advertised that it would be available at noon, and had their poster all set to put up) and "next week" in the other, although the latter did have about a dozen 4 packs of the Barleywine. I'm wondering why that would be if the distributor already had gotten it. But then in our area it is not unusual for hot releases to be delayed a week to a month before actually reaching point of sale, so perhaps it's just business as usual for our distributor? You'd think in this case though when the Black Friday release day has been so well known in advance, they would have been more on the ball.

Prop seems rarer this year than last. Nilla seems to be sticking around longer. Coffee continues to get more scarce which makes me sad because its my favorite beer ever.

Can anyone vouch for these events? As in, are they worth it? I'm considering driving up to the Boston event tonight, but don't want to make it all the way there if it's going to be crowded, and all there is is a shot at some BC bottles.

Anyone who can back me up, please /quote me or shoot me a BM. I think it might be fun, but I don't want to waste my time, either, with Boston being a 2 hour drive.

Well 3 hours of driving 5 stores, all got less than half of what htey had last year, no special bottles. I got left out of anything from them. Thankfully one of the stores felt bad and mentioned they has barrel aged narwall. I have to admit this is the ONLY beer I seek out each year. The fact that stores getting 30+ cases got 6 this year here is honestly just depressing as hell.

I have to say one guy I saw today he got the last bottle at the store I was at, he literally got it from the managers who felt bad and gave his last bottle to him. Then I heard the guy already had 2 bottles and honestly it was hard for me to not feel upset.

Goose island has GOT to find a way to meet demand for this beer. Honestly raise the price AND increase production, there is no reason for this level of lost demand. I mean really 40 a bomber would STILL sell out!

I thought the event was great here. Got a free poster, snifter, and bag of coffee which was more than expected

That's like saying you ONLY get to have the best shit ever made in the history of the world and your life is only maybe top 2 in existence!

I wish my issues today were I ONLY got the regular, my favorite beer ever :slight_frown: instead I'm without any and spent 3 hours driving for it :slight_frown:

The fact you had the option of buying vanilla you should be ashamed to be upset! I'll save my choice words....honestly some people are spoiled!

Over here in Portland, I've "found" 4 locations : two are releasing it (bottles and tap) on 12/6 and two others on 12/7. I wonder if that means Portland didn't actually receive a shipment yet.

Went to Holiday Wine Cellar 10 minutes after they opened - out of BCBS but they say they're getting more in at some point today.

The clown at Kahns was trying to charge $13.99 for a snifter. While other places gave them out what an ass clow first you oversell your event by advertising what you don't have and then you try to **** your customer base on the free snifters. I shouldn't be surprised.

AB-InBev did not brew this beer. GI did, and I'll continue to purchase it until that changes. Do monies go up the chain to the parent? Sure. But I reward talented brewmasters and Brett fits the bill in my book.

Paid $17 a 4 pack of regular, and $21 for a bomber of Vanilla here in Fort Worth. No lines, no wait. Yeah I missed out on the coveted bag of coffee and cheap tulip with BCBS printed on it...but hey we have to make sacrifices. I hear people started getting in line last night for the "release events." Limits just like I got.

The release events are a joke. They send the majority of what comes in to a state to these particular stores while the others get scraps. For what? Ridiculous.

picked up some bcbs and bc barleywine today. I looked at the two bottles I got from one store and they say they were bottled in 2013, and I looked at the one bottle I got from another store and it says it was bottled in 2014. Curious if GI shipped out some of last years batch they had just been sitting on. Labels colors are slightly different and the backs are certainly different as well.
