What an enormous fail this year's bourbon county release has been, and it's not even Black Friday yet. The new barrel facility they're opening had better solve a LOT of problems for next year.

 

I would tend to agree with this assessment but I have one caveat. While the initial rumors, confirmed by store owners/distributors, was that several states were shutout of Vanilla (and Coffee in the case of MD), rumor now is that Vanilla and Coffee are delayed for MD (and I would think other states, maybe CO @Kramerbarthomer?). That's not as nice of a Black Friday release, but definitely better late than never IMO. Also, BCBS and the variants are so good and Inbev is so large, I really wish/hope they widely distribute the variants one of these years. It would be nice to have one of the best stouts, best barrel-aged beers, and one of the best beers overall, available for nearly everyone in the country.

We have been told no Vanilla and no coffee in Colorado this year. Period. BCBS and VERY limited BCBBW.

 

I'll try to get as much stuff as I can tomorrow. Maybe I'll share...

 

If you strike out on BCBBW, hit me up. I've got some and should (fingers crossed) get several additional bottles tomorrow. I was planning on trading most of them anyway, so they might as well go to someone in this group.

 

I got my surprise base stout the other day...

My regular does a Black Friday release, and has already shown BCBS, BCBBW, BCBCS, and Backyard. I don't think they got Vanilla. Plus a bunch of Firestone Walker reserve beers, KBS, and a number of other limited items they hoarded. I'll be there bright and early. Here's hoping for a big score!

 

My regular stores were limited this year. One last year got coffee And regular. This year just regular and Barleywine. The other 2 last year got a couple cases of regular and Barleywine. So between the 3 I got 3 4 pks of Barleywine. A few 4 pks of regular and 1 4 pk of coffee. This year 10 bottles of regular and 1 4 pk of Barleywine is all I'll see from my regular stores.

My cat has a vet appointment tomorrow morning. So no quick trips up the road to scout out any other possibilities. Just sucks to see the distribution go backwards. The old good thing is, whatever they don't sell in the next month, they'll let me clear them out of the inventory in January.

It's sad that picking up a 4 pk is a great haul in nj. I can most likely go to NYC and pick up multiple 4 pks of 2013 and 2014 bcbs.

 

So far I have made two stops and got 2 bottles of regular.

 

The In-Bev distributor in my area got 30 cases. Total.

I almost went to Total Wine in DE, but I got lazy. I hit 2 other places while I was out... Got another 4 pack of Epitome, some 0dub, Seven Swans, & a growler of Kane Driftline.

I'm just excited to get BCBCS. It wasn't supposed to be available in SJ.

 

Managed 5 bottles of BCBS in 30 minutes at 3 different places, none of the variants. Still keeping my eyes peeled. Wasn't too bad.

At least they mostly did a black friday release this year in Minneapolis. Last year was dribs and drabs during the work day a week or two after and I didn't get any.

 

Went on a hunt for bcbs...found cell service and a pappy barrel aged release at Redbeard #vbs

 

2 - 4 packs of BCBS acquired. I am happy and done with beer shopping today.. and that supposed $7 MSRP price hike is not accurate... I paid $17.49 and $21.99 .... helluva deal... of course I was also able acquire some Legend of the Liquid Brain (http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/2695/22421/) today too, and I think I'm even more excited about that

 

No beer excursion for me today, out at Disneyland

 

Have y'all seen the trade forums today?! People are giving up the farm for Prop. I was able to get a little bit of everything except Vanilla, but its outta control today.

 

I got a half case of Hipster Brunch Stout and Morning Wood. Good day.

 

My city got completely shut out of Bourbon County, even the regular. I guess it wasn't meant to be this year... Hopefully, some place around here will get a keg so I can try it.

Did you ever get to try the Barley Wine?

 

Definitely not the success I had hoped for -- my regular place had plenty of BCBS so I grabbed a 4-pack (I not even sure if they HAD limits); they expressed disappointment that they hadn't received any variants but said they were hoping some arrived in the future. Other place nearby was starting to sell at 3PM, but had a one bottle limit on variants and you had to get your ticket at noon -- I didn't want to spend my day there. Third place is about an hour away but right near work -- they apparently sold out of Vanilla (even with a 1 bottle limit) within 10 minutes of opening, a friend picked up a bottle of the Barleywine for me (his girlfriend was with him, and he only wanted/needed one).
