A 4 pack of the stout isn't all that crazy... pretty much all limited releases are only 1 bomber/4pk/6pk per person the first week of release. You gotta understand that's so that one guy doesn't walk in and buy the entire allotment before anybody else can make it to the store. Cause that guy's out there... and there are more than one of them... so... limits are a good thing. As for the Barleywine... I can personally tell you that the supply is ridiculous this year. That's not the stores' faults, though, so please don't take it out on Colorado liquor-store employees and management today... they have nothing to do with it.
And, as for the variants... there's still Tweak out there... and I'm gonna guess it's better anyway, so just get you some Tweak. I was looking forward to that Vanilla Rye, though... dammit.
    Cest la vie.
Plenty of other beers in the cooler.

Went for coffee at Ozo this morning and stopped by Liquor Mart. They got 1 case of BCBS and one bottle limit. All gone 20 minutes after open.

They did have Ska Dementia, which is Bourbon barrel aged Euphoria. Anyone tried that? I grabbed a bottle.

I'm curious about the Dementia, too. I haven't seen any great reviews of it, so I haven't pulled the trigger on it yet.

I don't think anyone blames our co liquor stores. People need to understand GI is a business and I think it makes sense we don't get their good stuff. I appreciate they sent us what they did. To everyone's point no one buys their normal line so why reward a state for that. I want some vanilla and coffee as much as the next guy but I understand why.

Are you handing out vouchers to people in line 30 min before or is there plenty to go around?

So far, plenty to go around. We only have one guy in line right now. I know that's going to change soon, but as of now, I'm not seeing the huge rush of people we saw last year.

They just lose even more of a customer base from this state then. Don't even want the stout though lol, just want that Barleywine really...which I thought they were putting in 2nd use barrels so there should be more? Oh well

Argonaut must have got all the BCBBW, picked up a 4 pack this morning without any hassle.

But you also got to pick out a bottle of "something special" which normally I'd roll my eyes at, but at Mile High that could actually mean something. I almost went just out of sheer curiosity as to what those bottles were...anyone have any idea? I almost rather not know, for fear of finding out and then kicking myself for not going.

Right!? Summit County got 1 case this year. A 1 bottle limit at the shop that got it in, just crazy. Last year a shop up here had 4 packs sitting on the shelf five days after Black Friday.

Liquid Brain came out, so I am a happy man today! I think if Avery or Bull and Bush wanted to a crazy Black Friday day they could totally make an amazing Colorado event out of it... Avery could do a HUGE tweak release, BUT only Colorado got the different flavor variants. I am all for exposure for brands, but I think giving your locals the bulk makes a lot of sense. It sucks having had BCBS in CO before, but it makes sense.

Not sure if you've seen Avery's tap list today but it's solid. '08 Beast, '12 Czar, BA Czar, a couple Eremitas, etc. It's a low key Black Friday event, who knows why they didn't hype it. Although it was on Brewtally Insane's Weekend Buzz, that's all the hype you need right?

Fuuuuuu Colorado Springs didn't get ANY BW and that's the variant I wanted the most. Anyone wanna grab me a 4-pack in Denver and do an IP trade (or I'll just give you cash)?

That was definitely a fluke...most places that got an BW at all had 1 bottle limits. The guy said they just happened to get more than they expected. Other places got none of it, or very little.

No worries up here in FoCo. Regular and BW at all the stores I tried. 2 bottle limit of each, $6.99 per. Hit 3 stores between 9 and 9:45. No lines, no hassle.

New to craft beer, so this is my first BCBS Black Friday. This stuff is really good, huh?

    Signed,

Everywhere I tried this morning either didn't have or was sold out of the barleywine. No issues getting the regular though.

Scrounged up 5 bottles of regular (slipped one to my server at Crooked Stave today) and two BW. New to the area but it sounds like allocations were pretty severely neutered this year. Bummer.

On the upside, I found like 14-15 bottles of vintage BCBS in my basement two days ago I forgot I had. I knew I had some, but not in that quantity.

The regular is on tap at oskar blues homemade liquid and solids. I got the first pour at around 3:45pm today. Struck out on any bottles.
