Just perusing other threads my guess is that there have been distro problems. Places in LA where advertising they would get getting kegs of vanilla which didn't show up. I could probably count up the number of bottles that stores claimed they had for salr in all subforums and it would be under 500 total. There must be more to come

Went to two stores in Worcester today. 2 bottles Vanilla, 4 pack each of coffee and regular. One store would only sell me 2 bottles of coffee so scooped those up too. Got what I wanted.

I think something is up with Vanilla distro. I'm on IL/IA border right now and multiple stores on both sides of river as well as what I'm hearing from friends in MI is "Vanilla next week". Seems like perhaps they rushed some of it out to places they had events like Kappy's but maybe most of it isn't out yet.

spent about 2 hrs in line and walked out with a 4pk of Reg and BW..... last 4pk of Coffee went just ahead in line.... IF you are advertising as THE official release spot for the state maybe have enough for those that waited 2hrs in line!.... I realize Kappys gets what they get so not blaming them...... sorry just bitchin..... im better now

This year is a joke. Yankee and Gasbarros. 4 bottles of coffee and vanilla PER STORE. What happened between this year and last? Also, RI shut out of both those.

I ended up hitting 4-5 stores in Western Mass. Never saw any coffee, although one store had it before I got there but sold out. I did get some of the rest, but lots of stores said they hadn't received any regular due to mold issues. I did see some moldy/dirty regular bottles at one store but didn't seem to be anything more than cosmetic.

I went to kappys and waited for 2 hours as well. A huge let down if you ask me. Did somebody say they had 2 per person on the vanilla? That makes zero sense when the line was well beyond that. The first guys in the line said they were there at 2:30am...I just can't wait in any line that early for beer. There must be a mountain of vanilla somewhere...I did end up with plenty on regular and barley wine but that is kinda secondary for what I was after.

Kappys was 1 variant per person. 1 Vanilla, or 1 Coffee 4 pack or BW 4 pack.

as I said above, I think this mountain is in a warehouse or currently on trucks

Ball Square has some regular and bareleywine. Super thankful to have grabbed the last two coffee as it was the variant I'm most excited to try. The guy working the register told me it took 10 min for the coffee to sell out.

I can't complain too much, some parts of the country have trouble getting the regular bcbs. I ended up with 12 and 6 barleywines.

Question; I've been hearing and reading that 2014 BCBS is 13.8%, but I'm holding one (purchased this morning) right now that says 14.4% on the label...Thoughts???

Ha. The funny thing is I never roll through stop signs. Even passed an officer on Kidder but he didn't seem to mind.

    Hope you enjoy the bottles!

Just picked up a few 4 packs at Ball Square. After a closer look it appears that several of the bottles are covered in mold. :slight_frown: I thought this was primarily restricted to Western Mass, and that they were recalled?

I hadn't noticed, but my regular are covered also. Maybe this is a stupid question, but does this mean the contents are contaminated also? If so, I'm sure they'll take 'em back.

I don't think the contents are contaminated, but I heard that they were stored improperly (i.e. at the wrong temperature). That might effect the long term stability.
