Matt, that's awesome that you got a Prop and Vanilla. I was 18th in line in Bolingbrook at 5:30 and so mad they split the allocation after they tweeted that people were guaranteed those limits if they got there early enough. There were still a ton of people behind me that got shut out on everything.

I don't understand why they don't do line counts and tell people to go home. It's so stupid how Binny's run things. I would have been better off going to Standard Market (they at least let people wait inside)...

If that's the case then maybe I should change my "preferred styles" to all the beers people have posted on this thread today.

 

Managed to get 4 4-Packs of BCBS today hitting a few stores. Had one on tap a while ago and drinking my first bottle as I type this. Pretty solid vintage! Dem marshmallows....

Had the Coffee and Vanilla today via friends and good luck. The Coffee is more coffee and less booze than last year in my opinion and the Vanilla.....my my. Quite mellow vanilla flavors - not a vanilla bomb at all. Highly recommended and sad MD (and many states) got skipped on the Vanilla.

 

Jealous man! Been keeping track of the check-ins and have seen the ratings and comments for the Vanilla. However - I've also been tracking the ISO:FT forum and I think folks are going a bit nuts both asking and offering for Prop and Vanilla.

If you were among the lucky ones to get variants - let the black Friday brews sink in and sleep on it before you commit to trades folks. Also - don't rip people off!

I had the option to drink '14 BCBS tonight (and I still might...) but I'm staying local for now... if you've never heard of this beer, you have now... it is outstanding

 

That's funny. The guys right behind me had a friend a Bolingbrook too, and they were texting back and forth. Their friends were not very happy either--I think they arrived around 5 a.m.

FYI--Whole foods Kildeer is selling theirs at 8 a.m. tomorrow and Cardinal Warehouse Palatine is selling tomorrow too--9 a.m. Not sure what the situation will be with lines and people waiting (and maybe also a bit of a drive...), but thought I'd let you know.

I probably won't be able to get out tomorrow, but if I do run across any at the smaller stores, I'd be happy to share/trade/gift a few with you.

 

My friend got a growler of Vanilla, so waiting wasn't an option. And I totally agree - I think the Black Friday frenzy has everyone offering the moon for these beers and trade values will come down a bit (at least for Vanilla) as it gets out into the market. Prop probably stays high though as I assume it has similar distribution and numbers to last year.

I really hope I am wrong on this but, apparently, the actual Bourbon County in Kentucky got one maybe two cases of BCBS and nothing else. Crazy.

 

So yeah.. this is better than Liquid Brain, but really not by much...Cheers!
