Just wondering what was up with all the pre-trades of this beer. Was the release for BASC announced and I just missed something?

No habla Evilbook, but nothing has been announced on Twitter and I haven't seen it in an email newsletter yet. Personally, until I see a release date, I think people posting pre-trades are, to put a rather fine point on it, foolish. I hope it is coming out next month (July 7 would be idea ... hint hint), but until I see an announcement, I ain't banking on anything.

Random guess or an educated one? Last year was mid July release. The year before that, it was late August. Following that trend, it's already too late this year

I'm glad to see that I didn't miss anything... I think it's a little silly to guess when it is unless you've been told by someone with the brewery what is going on. The first year they had a Friday release and that made a lot of people miss it.

No, it's a brewery only release. Somewhere between 1200 an 1500 bottles, that's it.

Does FL see ANYTHING from Foothills?

Foothills not sure? I can check my TWine next time. I'm so used to only drinking CCB and Due South.

No..but you're not missing anything...save a lot of hype and headache trying to get some. I think all of foothills (especially dark beers) are sub-par (to be kind).

Ohhhh... So YOUR the guy who has the only opinion that matters... Gotcha, well I guess it doesn't matter then that BASC is one of my top beers and loved by many others as well, and I would actually encourage others to seek out this brew. Thank you for being here to negate the World Class rating it currently holds on this site. Cheers

I think everyone is entitled to an opinion...the only brewery release beer that I think is worth waiting for there is Olde Rabbits Foot. Unless of course they release their Baltic Porter again, which I thought was nothing short of world class.

Personally, I think the only beer I've had in NC that is better than BA Sexual Chocolate.....is the barrel-aged awesomeness that Duck Rabbit never bottles.....like BA Baltic Porter and Paul's Day Off.
    [hint, hint....BOTTLE IT PAUL!!!!]

Regardless of anyone's opinions on the beer, I'm interested in trying it. So once it's finally released, if anyone would like to set up a trade, I'd be eager to do so.

I also think everyone is entitled to an opinion and I like to throw mine out there as well, though I do it without shoving it down anyone's throat. I guess the subjectivity of "beer" really creates a pet peeve of mine when I see posts from others that come off as a mandate rather than an opinion, hence my reply.

Anyway, to stay on subject- ORF is amazing as well, but BASC edges it out, IMO. I think its because of the rich, complex chocolate flavors I get in BASC...

Hopefully they work things out to be able to have some fun in line again.

*queue the "drinking on WS streets is prohibited" BAs that would be doing it in a second if no one said anything.
