Was hoping to login and see that a bunch of stores were fibbing about what variants they got and that many black friday's were made for those who actually waited in line. Sucks. Still a little surprised I guess. Especially since GI did that big "migration" event over the summer and brought the regular and vanilla to a couple of spots in the Denver area (strange spots mind you...)

On this note, I opened the one bottle of last year's backyard rye at friendsgiving and was super disappointed. Super sweet and no bourbon at all. Almost tasted like a port wine. Guess I should have had it fresh. Makes me want to open the coffee and bw from last year asap...

I'm opening my Backyard Rye tonight, hopefully I have better news to report!

Let me know as well. Almost went with Backyard tonight, but haven't had the FW 18 yet so decided on that.

Backyard was gross last year. Hope it's gotten better. I still have a cherry rye I'm afraid to open. I think I just don't need fruit in my stouts.

Just finished Backyard and my verdict is that it is incredible!

I guess I can't say I hated the berry variants because at the end it's still the awesomeness that is BCBS but they are certainly my least favorite. Those berries distract me and belong with the "sister series" beers.

You guys don't even like bramble? That beer is drinking amazing lately IMO

To each their own I suppose

Okay, Bramble is the only variant I've never had, aside from Friday's release. I'm doing some assuming here but my thoughts on Backyard were the same on Cherry Rye. I'm just not a barrel aged fruited stout dude. Although Dry Dock had one a couple months ago that made me second guess myself

I'm not big on fruited stouts either. Lindsey park is the only other one I like that I can think of right now... I think I'm just really partial to the bcbs base beer.

Had Lindley Park on thanksgiving and I have to agree, super well balanced

Anyone else see these on tap anywhere? Tap hunter shows regular and barleywine on tap at Patrick's in Greeley.

World of beer Lakewood tapped them yesterday afternoon. Parrys said they'll tap their kegs in a few weeks for their Ugly Sweater Party.

Parry's, good to hear. That's my spot. I can easily crawl home from there.

Davidsons has a keg of bw, but it's for their Christmas party, hah.

Thanks for this! Grabbed a few bottles. Excited to try it. In regards to variants, I didn't love cherry rye or bramble. My buddy who went to fobab assured me coffee and proprietors are the ones to track down this year. Vanilla he said was a "syrupy mess?"

Anyone in Fort Collins that can weigh in on how hard it is to pick up bcbs? Heard around denver it may be easier up there.
