I was wondering when someone was going to correct this. I was thinking around 10k or so considering you lose about 10% in a barrel and some of it was kegged and probably some held back as well.

I haven't had 2013 Prop but I have tried 2014 Prop and its incredible. I don't care if the bottle count was 3,000 or 30,000 there's no way I would trade it away.

Numbers may be off, this is just what I heard. Also heard there was more 14 than 13. Even at 15,000 bottles doesn't make sense it trades so high. I had 13 prop and agree it was phenomenal, but tasting it next to a bcbcs or bcbs, there's not much to improve on there.

Rarity is usually what drives trade value, where BC bombers seem to trade more on taste and hype.

Ah, no. I traded a BASC for Darkness 14, I'd never flip my Prop 13 for it. BASC maybe 1500 bottles.

There are a bunch of Ahabs around here. The site is even selling similar themed T-shirts.

The beer scene has changed, what do you expect?

Was basc really only 1500 bottles? I heard there were a lot of bottles available for a few days at the brewery after the release day. And i think there was a 4 per person limit? I feel like there was more than 1500 bottles but i don't know for sure.

Also, obviously i know prop does not go for darkness 1:1, i was simply referencing that they have they same bottle count so theoretically they should be 1:1 because a lot of people base trade value off bottle count. Personally i trade based off of taste as the primary driver and then consider rarity. And that's why i would never trade for prop because while it's a great beer, it demands more than it's really worth. It's not rare.

There absolutely are (pre)trades for darkness, every year. One has to wonder if you've "been around lately" as they were happening just a month ago.

BASC was a 6 bottle limit, maybe 1500 bottles PVW 15 barrels, not exactly sure but in that range, but sold out by noon. Last year was 1200 bottles Buffalo Trace barrels.

That's cool you got extra's a darkness brah, i've extra'd and have been extra'd rarer beer than that, does that mean they aren't desired? Na it's called being a good BA and hooking people up. And yes, darkness had a lot of pretrade set ups, i even did one. So you clearly don't know what you are talking about there. Also, when i brought up darkness it was purely as a theoretical state as a comparative bottle count, sorry i didn't spell that out for you to understand. But anyone who really think that props value isn't overstated is clearly fooling themselves. That is the point of my posts.

Um, sorry but i think you may be misinformed. I suggest you read the BA sexual choclate forum in the regional section. People were saying how they walked in a few days after the release and getting 12 bottles (page 6 i believe)

Nah , or I wouldn't have camped all night. They were done by noon, rumors are what they are.

Yea there was also another person complaining about being there all night and then finding out that there were still bottles available on monday. Not sold on it being a rumor as at least one person giving specific info about what all is left at mid day on monday. Sorry you wasted a lot of time the night before the release. But there really wasn't much to gain about starting that rumor since it isn't that highly desired. But hope you enjoy your beer!

It trades 1:1 with CW 16, BA Darkness and the like, I've done these lately. Never a waste BASC is a great beer in and by itself, and great bottle shares. There wasn't any left after Saturday noon no matter how specific the info.

By wasting i meant you could have shown up monday at noon and gotten some instead of staying overnight. I'm sure it's great, wish i could have made the trip. Just to clarify you are calling that guy in the forum a liar?

Think i saw there was 88 barrels which is about 25,000 but not all made it into bottles, lots went into kegs total is kind of unknown but there is a lot.

88 barrels would not equal 25,000 bottles

According @mlhyatt that was just a point of reference.
God what planet do you live on? I'm not even a Midwesterner and what you're saying is chalk full of nothing but misinformation- same bottle count? Been gifted rarer? Rarer than something that's 30k bottles? I certainly hope you have, BECAUSE SOMETHING THAT QUANTITY IS NOT RARE!
(PRE)Trade? No doubt you've had something set up for it, lots of bottles (PRE)Trade, but not like Prop. And if like Prop, it's certainly not BA Darkness. And finally Prop wasn't 30k bottles.
I'm not saying you're trolling, and that your opinions aren't valid to you, I'm just saying what you think of as fact is not. you're simply just wrong.
