Think I have a trade for a vanilla sealed but won't know for sure until tomorrow. Seems like lots of ISO:FT threads but not much closing...

I think in the long run vanilla will trade higher than prop. I've heard more people are disappointed with prop and enjoy vanilla.

Chicago people gotta protect their trade value, brah.

First. Art for stouts sacrilege, lol.

Second. Check the threads one person was offering Rare + OG BCBVS + BCRVS for Art plus.

    All trades are different

I don't think this was covered: What do you guys think the direct trade value ratio of Prop to Vanilla is?

Any opinions on trading Prop and/or Vanilla for Deal with a Devil or White Chocolate or BA Sexual Chocolate or Aaron? As you can tell, I'm lost...

I was going to ask...BB Black Maple to Vanilla? 3:1? 2+:1.

What do you guys think of this trade? 1 Mexican cake and 1 mocha Wednesday for 1 proprietors. I have 3 proprietors so I can trade 1. But is that a good value trade? Never had either of those and I don't see them around.

If you're the one putting up the ISO for MW + Cake for your 1 Prop, that may get done, but you're clearly in the position of winning that trade if you're not offering up some limited local + on your end to account for the $4$ difference. 1:1 Prop:MW would be a fair trade. If that's a trade offered to you, I'd take it and still consider throwing in some limited local.

No I haven't posted in ISO but someone messaged me after posting my latest beer haul. I have the proprietors. He offered Mexican cake and Mocha Wednesday to clarify my question.

But like you said it is the demand that makes it that valuable. This happens with other beers from other places. And yes your prob right that people want to get it as soon as its out so maybe they would offer more but then thats what its worth. It's not the people of Chicago per se. It's the collaboration with everyone else and the overall consensus of who good the beer is. My brother once paid $30 bucks for 1 bottle of Pliny the Elder. We know it's not worth that. But if someone will pay it... It will happen.

Do you think it will trade higher? I think in the long term the vanilla will fade and make the beer less desirable.

We , the mods, look for dup accounts by checking IP addresses. I know there is ways to get around it but if they are that determined nothing will stop them, dup accounts are very very rare now a days.

Personally, I didn't think Vanilla Rye was very good; it was very artificial tasting. Prop, however, was awesome, would trade for it if I could.

Has anyone confirmed that Goose Island has released all the prop and vanilla, or that there wasn't any label issues holding up vanilla in some states, or that GI isn't releasing the rest out in waves over the next couple weeks? Cause I know missouri got backyard like mid december last year.

Vanilla hit Boston but in MUCH smaller quantities than last year. I haven't seen any coffee at all and I bought a case last year. I suspect there is more to come.

i agree you do what you can to stop it. I also believe they're a lot more prevalent than you think.

For example....let's just say a thread is posted by an "initiate" with MMM for trade iso: a case of prop. Joined in september, absolutely no other history in their profile. Now what's more likely, that some random person with a bottle of MMM stumbled across the forum by accident and is looking to trade it for a case of prop?

Or that somebody here created a dupe account to trade for a case of prop. My money is on the dupe account.

Sorry, but I hate dupe accounts, lol. And you'll never get me to believe that things like this aren't dupe accounts.

There's only so much we can do, especially with the wide spread use of mobile apps. We do have tricks that we don't expose to public scrutiny, but those are typically used only for specific or compelling situations. We're not goig to start policing every ISO for potential dupe accounts.

If you see a suspect account, report it. We can't be everywhere all the time.

The most important thing to know and accept as a trader is that you trade at your own risk. If it seems off, don't make the trade.

I stumbled upon a bomber of 2012 coffee this weekend. Any idea on value for this beast?
