I'm not sure how our local places here in the ATL faired compared to last year, but while I was out in Nashville on Black Friday one of the stops I made was to the biggest GI account in the city. Last year they received 25 cases of BCBS. This year, they got 5. Last year they received coffee, backyard and a ton of BW. This year they got no variants and only two cases of BW. With numbers like that, it's pretty obvious they're trying to get this out to as many locations as possible.

It wasn't good, that's for sure. It was thin everywhere. Nonexistent in a lot of places. I understand spreading the footprint, but leaving premier places off the list or setting up places that clearly aren't major go-to stores just seems backwards to me.

I didn't really pay attention to who got what here while I was out of town, but the fact that my local McCray's (at West Village) got a keg of BCBS is mind blowing to me. Their cliental is definitely not 'crafty' so I'm sure it's still on. I'd love to know how much they're charging per glass because I'm sure it's not cheap.

On Black Friday the ABC in Lk Mary put kegs of '13 BCBS and BCBBW on the growler station. $22.95 for 32oz.

This is probably a shot in the dark - but are any grocery stores such as Harris Teeter, Publix, etc. getting BCBS? I see someone posted that Kroger got some in GA - I'm out of the Triangle area in NC - thanks!

I'm a manger at a Kroger in Georgia that has a great beer selection. We have growlers and get a lot of the major special releases (Bourbon County, Hopslam - things of that nature.) Kroger is coming on up in the beer world.

Yeah, two Navy base exchanges got a bunch of cases here in the Norfolk/Va Beach region. I mean that's cool to supply our service members, but that's 20 or so cases of BCBS being distributed basically in an area restricted to the general public. I mean I got some, but how do you guys that got shorted this year feel about this?

I'm curious what Kroger got bcbs. I don't shop at Kroger but I will admit the few time in the one near me, they trump publix for beer selection diversity for sure. Publix is expanding monthly but I doubt I'll see bcbs even will the boat load of goose island they sell

I'd rather go totally without, if I knew it meant that those guys & gals were getting their fair share.
There's a hell of a lot of servicemen & women on those bases defending our great nation.

I really can't believe this even raises a concern with you.

I know some retail outlets in the Athens area got some today. Kinda makes you wonder if the distributor is sending out a second wave. There was a good deal of it around Atlanta on Black Fri.

Saw a second wave of regular in NC today. I expect some markets will get more of BCBS and maybe BW.

Oh it doesn't bother me, I grew up in an area with the highest amount of service members in the country. Like I said, I was wondering what those that saw way less this year thought. Still gotta wonder how many Navy guys drink impy stouts, though.

If it doesn't bother you, then whats the point in trying to 'flame' this type of discussion? Some places got a lot, some didn't. Sure, there were shops that got way less than last year, but there were also shops that got way more than last year. 20 cases going to a naval base likely had no impact on either result.

I agree with @lonewolfcry - I'm all for any and all bases getting a good amount of a beer regardless of how many, or how few (which appeared to be your insinuation), "Navy guys drink impy stouts". Leave it alone, dude.

So it seems some stores in Florida still might have barleywine on the shelves. If anyone is willing to make a deal shipping won't be too much a hassle cause I'm in Tampa, I have Zhukov, Lacto Apricot Grove, can get Cycle crowlers if need be.

Hit me up if you wanna work something out.

Yeah Bestway got a case of coffee and 2 cases of barleywine but didn't release either on Black Friday. Wish I knew the reason why.

I'm not a big BW guy so I'll pass on that , but I love the coffee, more subtle than KBS and I'm a big fan of that one.
