Yes, @Mipper managed to give me more beer than I managed to give him, and he still tried to give me more beer! I knew I should have just thrown the beer out the window and honked as I drove by, but I wanted to be courteous, and he repays me by inviting me into his home and giving me his beers. Such aggression will be remembered.

Fwiw, I believe I was successful in dropping off a box on another porch this evening unmolested. Someone who, judging by the timestamps of posts in this thread, might have been distracted dipping his beans into his beer at the time.

All Ive had from Avondale was Vanillaphant and I enjoyed it. Hope that bottle does some good things for Alabama beer. Straight to Ale is helping with their naughts and Laika series

Just so happens I should be moving in to my new place out in San Diego right around 2/10 - 2/11. And I'll be working about 5 minutes from MT. I'm no fan of sours so if I can get there in time to grab one, I'll be more than happy to send it to you.

OK guys here it is. For a bottle of Vanilla Rye and the new Prop plus a few extras.
Blue-Dreams LIF a little background first-
My father was in Vietnam , not by choice but by being drafted. While there he saw a lot of things and did a lot of things that changed his life forever. The worse part is when he came back he was spit on by the American people for going to a war he had no choice in. Ever since he has been reclusive , he lost a few good friends while he was there and rarely talks about his time there to anyone but me.
My father always thinks I'm crazy for standing in lines to get beer, he likes beer but would never go to the lengths we do. So i wanted to prove to him it more than just beer, its about putting smiles on peoples faces, making good friends, and having good memories.
First i have to add @dust_bunny had something to do with this, without going into great detail i helped DB out with a big want of his, not for him but for a good friend of his. @dust_bunny has paid it forward by sending me a vanilla rye , the very one who ever wins this LIF will receive.

    Now on to the LIF
    1. You can't be from Illinois, sorry FIBS we will have more chances to try these on tap than anyone else.
    2. You must not have either a bottle of the new prop or the new Vanilla.
    3. After you win you must post an ISO in the normal trade forums for a veteran and ship them a box of what you would have traded to get these beers, i understand some people might be in shit locations and thats fine just do your best.
    4. You have 2 weeks to complete this task of sending the beer out.
    5. We will need a pic posted in our thread to see the vet has received the box, you can post for them here or invite them to post here, but make sure they know how to post pics.

Ok rules are done, heres the question simple and sweet, guess my fathers age, birth month, and day. Closest number in days wins, no price is right rules.
Please reply to this post or tag me so i don't forget to write people down. 1 guess per person. Im going to close this Friday at midnight so everyone has a chance and i will announce the winner Monday. I will ship out next week most likely Tuesday. Don't worry there will be no challenge bottle in this box.:stuck_out_tongue:

This LIF is to show my father it isn't about beer it shows that i helped someone out @dust_bunny , so @dust_bunny could help out one of his friends, then @dust_bunny paid it back to me, and I'm paying it back to a member of our thread, who will in turn pay it back to a veteran. My dad does not smile too much but I'm sure when he sees this and all the smiles it put on all these peoples faces, he will smile too.:grinning:
Good luck everyone and god bless those who gave their lives for me to be where i am today.
    Cheers,
    Justin / Blue-dream

Thanks Justin. I love the part that you've become the one that dad opens up to. Very important role you play there, fella.

My guess: 71 years of age. Born June 9.

My dad was in the war, too. I'm thankful that he's a lot more open about his experience but he shares the same sentiment as most that experienced it. He was a medic AND a conscientious objector (not by choice, a demand from his overly strict father at the time who is a pastor) which meant he didn't carry a gun but he was a primary target for the enemy. Towards the end he lost a lot of the original conviction that was propelled by his father (my grandfather), I guess war does that to you.

I'm going to guess March 17th for the birthday, that's actually my dad's birthday. As for age, I'm going to have to wing a guess and say 66 because my dad for some reason is reticent to reveal how old he is. He's so vain.

FT: <insert list of beers you'd trade for BCBS Prop/Vanilla here>"
