Think he's just comparing every pricey beer to allagash for some reason.

Are you guys really that dense? I am talking about price point. I could have easily said the bruery. Anything that costs >$20 a bomber is something I will only try once because it's just too expensive for me to buy regularly no matter how good it is.

Wow, was not going to get this one seeing the other price points to date but picked up a bottle of this for $13.99 as well as a bottle of BA Imperial Biscotti Break for $19.99 at Lois' Natural Marketplace in Scarborough, ME. My wife was just buying some natural soaps before leaving town and never thought they would have a small "world class beers" section. Outstanding!

I believe there were around 7 bottles of the BA Narwhal remaining...

I thought the beer was world class, very tasty and enjoyable, shared with 2 others. Paid $ 19 & 20.00 for my 750's, not bombers. Picked up a total of 4 at different stores.

The ones at Macys in West Roxbury still look to be collecting dust at the ridiculous price of 19.99 if anyone still wants these.

Don't play the tax card. MA has one of the lowest tax rates on alcohol importing in the country. NH is triple MA's rate.

Why is my beer cheaper in NH than MA? Why is my Bourbon 10-40% cheaper in NH? Evan williams single barrel bourbon is $ 22-24 in NH, not on sale. Same bottle in MA, $ 33-35, not on sale. Yes MA has a lower rate , the 3 tier system sucks. NH state liquor store buys as a whole and has great purchasing power.

It all comes down to how the individual states impose laws on the distributors. As the state of NH is the sole importer and supplier of liquor, that's different (although in my experience the NH Prices on liquor have been inline with the MA stores I shop at). Also, beer is only really cheaper at the grocery stores, probably b/c NH allows for volume discounts and it's one buyer for ALL of the Market Baskets, etc. So, yeah, 12.99 Smutty 12-packs in NH vs 15.99 in MA, but again I'm not seeing such differences on other, non-widely distributed craft up there.

some are in line, plus/minus a few $. But some NH retail prices on liquor are in line with or even lower than MA wholesale prices.

I'm sure tax at some level is an issue, because I've seen beers that self-distribute in MA that use distributors to NH that cost less to NH stores than MA stores.
