Beer table grand central still has backyard on the shelf. They said the distributor sent them 2 cases. They also have coffee for $12.

Just curious, do people think regular BCBS will still be easy to find on shelves in the city throughout the year like it was for last year's release? Seems like there's a greater demand for any/all BCBS versions this year.

They had Backyard Rye for sale at their One Year Anniversary event last August, so it may just be the balance of their stash from back then.

I'm not sure if it will stay on the shelves AS long, but I'd say it'll be around for at least the next several weeks if you're hunting. Giving the distribution quantities I've seen, I'd be surprised to see it still in June. Could be wrong.

I'm hoping thats the case. Got some variants but was real lazy getting regular. Guess we'll just have to wait and see. I still have a bunch from last year so I'm not too worried.

FYI: walked past the Hells Kitchen Brewtique on 9th Ave a few minutes ago and they had a 12oz bottle of regular BC and a bottle of BCBBW in the window. I didn't go in, I didn't ask any questions, just figured I'd put in this thread in case anyone wants it. Frankly, I'm afraid of how much they're probably charging for it.

Given the craziness this year that I don't really recall ever being like this in year's past, the shops will probably charge $30 plus for an "aged" 4-pack if they're around in June.

It does seem like everyone was in it for the Vanilla Rye this year. Now that that's ostensibly gone and the price of Coffee is double what it was last year, maybe there will be a resurgence in interest in the regular BCBS.

That's pretty much what I was thinking, I was really surprised when Prospect Heights Beer Works told me they were doing a 4pk limit pp for the regular BCBS (though he did mention that would change after they sold out of the variants).

Same thing for me, I think it should stick around for at least a few months after all the initial hunting dies down.

Agreed. It took Prospect Heights about 10 months to sell all their 2013 BCBS, so I imagine they must have gotten a lot less this year.

Has the Columbus Circle Whole Foods received their shipment of the regular stuff yet?

Not looking for variants... just trying to get some of the OG at close to MSRP in midtown.

Chelsea WF had it yesterday. I didn't go there today. I hope that's close enough from where you are.

Yeah, Backyard for $38, their usual markup. I have all I'll ever need of Backyard (3), so I feel no need to buy more, especially at that price.

Seriously? Man, that's crazy. Vanilla I might understand. Well, I'm still glad I have my 3.

I agree, I live near that place and never stop in anymore. One of the worst price gouging places in the city.

Living in Central Jersey I am pretty sure these beers are just myths at this point. I can't find a store thats gotten any vanilla in Jersey and by now I am sure its long gone in NYC

i walk by beer table on the way to and from work and haven't bothered to stop in at all for BCBCS, figuring they'd be charging $25+ per bottle. oops!

and yes, i never buy bottles there, but will occasionally stop in for a mini-growler fill of something.

Maybe wait until next year? If Backyard was relatively plentiful in the past few days, perhaps Vanilla will be next year. I ended up with 2 and I have little doubt some more will pop up over the next year or so.

I'm pretty much the same. I'll occasionally buy a cheap bottle for $4-$5 and fill a pint maybe every other week if they have something interesting. I can count on one hand the number of times I've bought an expensive bottle there:

Mephistopheles for $20 - saw it later that week at Good Beer for $12.
Big Sound Bourbon for $37 - virtually the same price everywhere it was available.
    Allagash FV 13 for $21.

Hey, Taestee, let's drop in for a pint one day. I'll be the guy in the Mets cap.
