With used ball lock keg prices entering the stratosphere, be on the lookout for "good deals". ...come to think of it, I need some dog treats from China and a new pesticide/herbicide sprayer

I bet they come with the posts that fit an 11/16" socket wrench, like the Italian ones and some of the old corny pepsi kegs. My collection has both types.

Edit: I think the type of post I'm talking about is a "Type B"

You might be right, I just used an adjustable wrench, though my AEB (Italian) keg came with 7/8. The AIH also come with the universal poppets...first time using them.

I just checked my Italian kegs. It turns out they do take a 7/8" socket. The 11/16" socket posts are only on some of my older cornys.

If you don't, then I'm all ears for some more kegs!

If I was getting into kegging with no equipment or prior kegs I would just go right to 1/6 barrel sanke kegs. They are getting increasingly easier to find (even new) at comparable prices to cornys.

However, staying on topic I picked up a 50lb sack of two row and 5lb of wheat malt for $45.
