Hen of the Wood served me one of the best meals I've ever had. TRF is right (about everything he said, actually) that you want to make reservations, sooner the better.

For breakfast, I recommend the Big Picture Cafe in Waitsfield. Amazing food, and they have Lawson's on tap...and it's right on the way to the Warren Store.

Hen of the Woods menu does look delicious, but it sounds like a place that I'd rather enjoy with a company, rather than by myself.

Just called Hunger Mountain to see about Lawson's delivery. They said it's on Thursday about 2 pm and they only get Sip of Sunshine, as Sean is not producing any other stuff at this time. Looks like my chances of getting any Lawson's bottles are slim to none. :slight_frown:

I bet they'll still have Sip of Sunshine on Friday when you get there. I got it on Saturday at Winooski last month and saw it at Hunger Mountain on a Sunday night (also a month ago). If you like sours, buy the Backacre Sour Golden Ale at Hunger Mountain (and anywhere else you see it)

I would bet Hunger Mountain will have it on Friday. I was there during Veteran's day weekend (known as a busy weekend) and they had Heady and Sip of Sunshine on the shelf on Sunday evening.

I was last in VT 3-4 weeks ago, and the Warren Store had SOS on Sunday, though I've no idea if it was left over from Thursday, or held and released that day. Hunger Mt also had SOS and HT on Sunday, but that was stock that was held back, in order to be released every couple hours on Sunday

Just a heads-up; it looks like the weather will probably suck Saturday: a rain/snow mix in town and very wet snow in the hills. Be sure to bring that umbrella (or a raincoat) and some warm under layers.

Go to Kismet for breakfast. Their Eggs Benedict is literally my deathrow meal (plus you can have Heady with it too). Probably overall my favorite restaurant in VT.

Mad Taco is delicious, go with their Colorado tacos, its their carnitas but with a house mole... effing delicious.

Fiddlehead is canning and selling Second Fiddle IPA out of the brewery on Saturday the 6th. They're usually open until late at night (8 or 9pm?) and probably won't run out. It's a must. I would literally pick up the Second Fiddle before the Focal Banger. At any rate, it's barely half an hour from Waterbury so you won't have to choose. Dont just take my word for it, read the reviews! The brewery is pretty new and has been flying under the radar, but mastermind and second fiddle are on point with a lot of the best hill farmstead stuff if you ask me.
