hey - I'm moving to Ann Arbor this summer - I wanted to know how those from the area or around the area feel about the local craft beer scene and access to "good/rare" stuff - I couldn't find any literature on abv limits so I'm assuming there isn't one - Thanks!
As a former MI resident, I can vouch for Michigan, in general, as a great beer state, if not one of the best. Although, you'll probably have better luck with this question in the Great Lakes thread.
Ann Arbor's a pretty solid beer town. Grizzly Peak and Arbor Brewing Company - both decent brewpubs, if nothing exciting Jolly Pumpkin - just down the road in Dexter and makes awesome funky stuff, their brewpub is in downtown Ann Arbor Wolverine State Brewing Company - haven't been so I can't comment Ashley's - one of the best beer bars I've ever been to, knowledgeable (but grumpy) staff, good vibe Heidelberg - has a decent selection of German brews, you can get a boot The entire state is near the top of my list, in addition to Founders/Bells there are a number of solid smaller breweries (Short's, Kuhnenn, etc.)
Hey All - this is a wild request and I have no clues if it's possible....I'm moving to AA toward the end of June...is anyone able to secure a bottle of CBS or Dark Horse Plead the Fifth for a bottle share or trade upon my arrival? I have good Wicked Weed sours and Olde Hickory Stouts such as Event Horizon and Lindley Park...also lots of Goose Island BCBS...I know that's months out...just figured I'd ask! Thanks!
