Make me wonder exactly which beer(s) "everyone" had prior to trying this most outstanding example...

My experience is that every vintage with a cap tastes the same.

Drinking a 12 right now, nothing wrong to me.

    P.S. $13.99 in Charlotte, NC

LOVED it - could have even been more sour, for my tastes. Absolutely delicious. And here in TX, I pade $13.99, so if people are getting gouged for $18/19 a bottle, they are getting taken by someone.

Seeing it at a little liquor store that sells mostly BMC was a pleasant surprise today.

Too bad it's so damn expensive...$15.69 at said liquor store.

Much harder to taste the rarity in these newer vintages. Blah blah blah, pasteurized blah blah blah

I had the beer again today. It's probably my favorite year I've had, though I've only had the bomber versions.

Haven't opened my bottle yet, but I do remember it being intensely sour when I had it 3 or so years ago. It was the first sour I ever had and I hated it. Now, I like sours, so I'm really interested to see what I think of it this time.

My tasting partner said the 2012 is pretty damn good. Suprising to hear someone didnt like it. <--Yes that was sarcasm.

    Cheers!

just had my second '12. after my first bottle wanted to give it another chance... but it just isn't that great this year... it is tart, but missing a lot of the complexity of previous years. '11 was great, '10 was a miss as well, and '09 was amazing... this year, just Meh for me.

Really the only bad thing about it this year is that it went up in price.

I got lucky and found a bottle for $12.50 and drank it two nights ago. It is nowhere as good as the old corked and caged bottles and it certainly isn't worth $12 let alone $17. I'm starting to think the price tag is based more off the reputation of the old c&c bottles. :slight_frown:
