2014 Bourbon County Brands release - Chicagoland

i drank 13-14 bottles of prop last year and thought there was a ton of coconut in every last bottle. i have yet to have it on tap, but it most certainly was loaded with coconut. i dont understand these claims of bottles with no coconut flavor?

 

I wonder if Lemon Tree in DG might be getting any variants..they always seem to get some of the other rare/once a year releases albeit a week or two after the main release.

 

I am pretty sure they got their shipment in (including variants) last week and quickly sold out of it all.

 

Place by me in Palatine got their shipment as they have been saying all week. Had lots of everything and of course Damn work and I get there too late. Just got one bw bottle, they had tons of original but not paying ten a bottle since have enough from Jewel.

 

I meant to stop in and have lunch, and check..alas was not meant to be. They usually have a pretty solid selection for a small shop. I think some Jewel's in the area are just getting regular BCS lately, no variants.

 

The only way you would have seen it is if you would have checked before black friday. Pretty sure they sold tuesday or wednesday before thanksgiving.

 

the LP whole foods is releasing their BCS at 8am tomorrow, are there still going to be tappings at 5pm?

 

I talked to someone earlier today at whole foods. They said yes to 5pm tapping, but didn't know what would be tapped other than regular. They also said vintage bottle raffles.

 

Anyone know if suburban whole foods are doing the same?

 

It's not a claim, there genuinely is (if not drop-off due to age) a lot of variation in the bottles my first couple (within a couple months of release) bottles had plenty of coconut, the last (end of October) was essentially Templeton Rye BCBS. Pretty crazy; consider yourself lucky. Also, 13-14 bottles? Jesus.

 

I agree. I have had around 10 bottles and all have been heavy coconut… they actually seem to have more coconut the older they get.. But I have heard of a lot of bottle variation. So who knows.. I guess the only way to be sure is to open all the Props and drink them.

According to LP Whole Foods' Facebook, release is at 8am, tapping at 5pm. I believe the 5pm release post was retracted.

 

release is definitely at 8am. and if you want to get a bomber, you are probably going to want to get in line early.

   Schaumburg Whole Foods received a shipment this morning right when they opened.

 

no more vintage rafflings.
tappings a 5pm.
Regular and Vanilla guaranteed. Plus some of last years vintages on tap. not sure if which.

 

If they aren't doing vintage raffles, then the person i talked to on the phone at 5pm was ill informed. Not doubting that at all, though. Good news about vanilla on tap.
