I stopped by twice yesterday, on the way to the beach and on the way home, and thought the Dorado was fantastic. I bought several bottles and growler fill.

It's $7.95 for a bomber and $23 for 1/2 gal growler fill at home brew mart. They generally sell their bombers at pretty close to retail. This was the first time I had Dorado, and I thought it was fantastic. Not QUITE as fruity/tropical as I was hoping for and maybe a little more bitter, but they nailed the malt. Every time I have a DIPA I am afraid of being bombarded with malt and sweetness and this did not disappoint.

This is great! Bought 5 bottles today. Finally, a release I am happy with for the IPA's this year. Yulesmith Summer sucked, Ruination 10th was nothing special, this stuff is excellent!

Blasphemy! Yulesmith Summer was/is great. I passed some to my non-IPA loving friends, and they too loved it.

ps- Looking forward to trying the Dorado.

Summer Yule is fine, Stone Ruin 10th was one of the best beers Stone has made in awhile and was pretty tasty.

Dorado, I plan to pick some up tonight. I wonder if this is the 'old' recipe using nothing but Crystal Hops. The beer's name used to be Crystal Pier (as in the one in PB), but since Crystal Hops are ~3%AA they're rather inefficient for making a big hoppy ale.

Never had it before, even during the numerous draft only releases the past 3 years, so no basis for comparison. :/

Dorado was a dumping ground for other hops. The 'true' form is rarely brewed. The last draft only release was a hot nightmare of amess. Not sure what they were going for but they missed their mark entirely and I think they put it under the 'Dorado' name just because. It wasn't Dorado.

I've been told it's excellent. Will drink some tonight and report back.

Majority Crystal, but other hops were used too.

Any more news on possible distribution? I'm hoping some bottles get up here to Orange County.

It's nice to see the best by date of 6/15/13 printed in white on the label.

I was told at the brewery, where im currenty really enjoying a barrel aged Piper Down, that Dorado will be going everywhere they distribute. Only question is how much.

For beers 10% and above, yes. 120 days for others.

Not every DIPA has to be drainpoured after 23 hours!

Not hating on this beer, but who actually believes Dorado will be good anywhere near 12 months from now??? (refrigerated or not)

The best by date could be 10 years from the the bottled on date for all I care as long It allows me to tell the age of the beer.

So is that their protocol for all 10%+ beers? That is pretty confusing to have two different best by periods.
