I wouldn't go that far, there's some synergy between the hops and the mangoes creating their their own distinct flavor, but I don't pick up too much on the mosaic which is what really makes the SG shine, imho.

 

Just to give an update on the BA Jones Dog batch 75, opened one last night and it was F***ing fantastic! There were no signs of oxidation or any hints that the capping didn't create an appropriate seal. It was awesome to do a side by side with Jones Dog batch 139. Made watching that "football" game a hell of a lot more tolerable.

And also makes me really happy that I still have one more batch 75 to drink.

 

Had mine about a month ago and completely agree - loved 'em both.

And also makes me really sad that I don't have any more to drink.

 

Is Sure Bet still available out there?

 

It's sparse but I think some places have it. Where in MI are you located? If you're going to 4 ELF next week I can try to bring you one.

Ha, well that makes a difference. Check Beer Menus and then make some calls since most of those places rarely have their shit up to date. But it's still a good first start.

 

I made the rounds on Tuesday and picked up several. I went out again yesterday to try to grab one or two more, and one of the four stops I made still had a few bottles. Everywhere I stopped on Tuesday had it in the back room, so make sure to ask. Don't just look on the shelf...

That sure bet is fantastic. Probably the cloudiest IPA I've ever drank. But the mango flavor is strong and still balanced.

Thought Sure Bet was amazing, kinda reminded me of a bigger Great Lakes Chillwave

 

Picked up the last bottle at Gennario a couple of hours ago. I've yet to see it in any of my other usual stops in the western burbs. The hype here certainly has piqued my interest.

 

Sure Bet was bomb. Had one last night. Really delicious. Some serious citrusey bite to it.

 

I had 1 year old Murderous, last night. I want to buy a case of this beer

 

I'm going to be in town Wednesday-Sunday (in the suburbs Wednesday & Thursday, downtown Friday-Sunday). If someone could point me in the direction of bottles of Sure Bet or Nelson Sauvin, I'd love you forever!

 

Most Binnys will have Nelson. Sure bet will be more difficult. I'm sure someone will chime in.
