Is this still available in Madison? When was the last bottling?

Can't tell you what the last bottling date was but there is plenty around in Madison.

I think it was Julian 164-ish. So middle of June. Had one last night and it was still drinking phenomenally well.

there have been many batches, like 1644, 2034, 2334, 2694 and 2974 is the most recent I drank. judging by 297 being october 24th I imagine we should see a new batch any day now.

Where have you found the 297? The 269 is still all over Madison.

Anyone know if I can find Scream pretty easily in Janesville/Beloit? Thanks!

What a well-made beer. Any IIPA that can retain great drink-ability over a few months is something special.

b and b in wind lake only orders small amounts because they are kind of a smaller store so they usually get the freshest batch the quickest, same with woodmans waukesha. discount liquor in waukesha ordered way too much i think their freshest is like 2034 or something really old.

Thanks.. I never really stop in there but I probably will to try to snag a 4pack or 2. I have been checking my usual eastside spots over the last month and still just keep seeing the 269.

Damn I knew there were more batches, had one last night, just pulled it out of the recycle bin, its a 234 and it was delicious. We are lucky to have a quality beer like this so readily available. Thanks for the advice, I'll be checking bottle #'s from now on.

Ok, so the batch I'm drinking is 269. I ended up taking the hour or so trip over the border to Beloit today in search of this IIPA. Here are some initial thoughts...Smells like an IIPA, however, it just doesn't have the look...nor the taste (well somewhat.) This drinks and looks super clean for an IIPA. I'm almost used to chewing on the typical IIPA with chunks of yeast and a general earthiness. Scream is almost completely devoid of these characteristics. It's very clean and crisp...almost transparent. But, I really enjoy it! Good stuff indeed from New Glarus as always. I hopped on the NG bandwagon a while back after trying Spotted Cow years and years ago up at a friend's cabin in Kelly Lake, WI. It just took me several years to find out that Spotted Cow isn't even close to their best offering...I'm really looking forward to trying the Cherry Beer, Black Top, Moon Man (I think I had this one last year though) and Strawberry Rhubarb I picked up as well.

Scream is much more in the West Coast style (although still maltier than most West Coast IIPA's). Lagunitas brews some super clean IIPA's which are a bit more "WC" than Scream. I think of Scream as a great combination of the FFF-style Midwest IIPA (think dreadnaught, APW, even King Sue) and a Pliny/Bad Boy/Sucks/Enjoy By.

Agreed, I felt like Scream was quite similar to Enjoy By with a hint of the pine-latent Dreadnaught. Good stuff. Very clear color, which is weird because @TX-Badger posted the picture below...mine is one top.
