Being what it is, Monk's is pretty unlikely to not be a host bar anytime soon. Can't speak to Churchkey, but I hear the event went well, so I have to assume they're going to continue hosting as well.

They are but Cantillon is the "Nike" of the sours and will continue to have a following and demand. Russian River, Jester King, Cascade, Wicked Weed, and many more continue to make more sours but Cantillon will continue to thrive, especially when there supply is this low.

I respectfully disagree. You can't compare an American Sour to a Belgian Lambic. Two completely different beast from beginning til end.

Ironic, someone that actually has access to some Cantillon and he prefers American sours.

i dont think popularity will fall, but what i do see is a possible slowing of growth, but falling? i mean, can you really imagine going back to drinking crap after this? if popularity of craft beer fell, it would imply people that drink it now, will stop, which i dont think is true. it may just stop growing for a bit at some point..

I'd love for them to double production as long as they distribute well into the US.

Cantillon is accessible, just not so much in the US.

But...but...Jean van Roy said that the U.S. singlehandedly saved Cantillon for certain bankruptcy and destruction. Why aren't we getting our deserved rewards?

It takes a long time to produce these beers. JVR is the BEST and highly regarded blender currently. He won't sacrifice his trade, father's trade, families trade for quality over quantity. Not what he was taught and that is why he is so successful.

Supply and demand? Free-market economies? Where's the invisible hand? The customer is always right, right? (Definitely. Maybe...)

If supply to the US doubles, it still wont come close to the current demand. Some beers are destined to remain difficult to attain. Unless you all want to stop buying and let me finally get my fill
