I know little about 'good bowling' and I know my cumulative score for 3 games would be around 270-330... I'm going with 725.

GA... just moved here from CA. Which poses an interesting question for me as to what constitutes "locals" given the composition of my cellar is from all over the place. I'll send my target some beers, and they'll be from some places.

    These guys got it.

    Hint 1: Shipping east...
Hint 2: Target, I can hit some wants for you and you may have some CO brews listed on your wants already, but if there's anything new or a recent release from a CO brewery that I may be able to find, please update your wants

We have a few guys in a similar position for various reasons; as a group we have taken to defining "locals" pretty loosely as the situation calls for it.

You know, every time I get a target and look at their wants, I always have to post "Looks like mt target needs to update his wants with some TX beers". So I think with four Texans in this group, we should see a little more TX beers on everyone's Wants lists..... We have a lot of great beer not named Jester King.

I can speak to this being a fact and it has been proven again and again that we have a group of certified porch assassins from Texas.

My familiarity with Texas is pretty limited... Hints regarding what non-JK breweries I should be considering are welcome.

Also... My wants need a serious overhaul... I will try to do this today/tomorrow.

Serious question: I am starting to discover Texas brews and apart from JK, St Arnold and Lone Pint, what other breweries should I be aware of?

Real Ale, St Arnold's, 512, Lone Pint, Buffalo Bayou, Southern Star... I'm sure there are 10 more I'm forgetting, but I'm also sure the Texans can help me out there

edit: draft only but how can I forget Live Oak! Best American hefe out there.

I don't know much about anything from Texas. Just got a Yellow Rose as an extra, WOW one of my top IPA's now for sure.

Karbach has some solid beers, Oddwood is an up and coming sour brewery (love their saison), Hops and Grain make damn good hoppy beers (especially Zoe and their Greenhouse series), Community makes a great Mosaic hopped ipa and a nice RIS called Legion. Those are the beers that are more popular down here. Karbach and Saint Arnold limited releases fly off the shelves here like they're Bourbon County, even without the national recognition, but even their year-round offerings are good.

Then there's Real Ale, Buffalo Bayou, and Southern Star whom all make some fun brews, but aren't necessarily as sought after.

I'd add Lakewood and Community to the list of solid breweries after trying a few that @Clarkson sent me!

They're not all technically Texas, but I liked stuff from Boulevard, Deschutes, and Prairie that @Clarkson and @EA728 sent me. Also, you can go to the Top 250 Beers list on here, you can look at highest rated beers by state (for example, http://www.beeradvocate.com/lists/state/tx/)

I consistently think of Prairie when thinking about "beer from TX" for this reason. Maybe it's because I know no one from OK nor do I know of any other beer from there, so the entire state just blends in with TX.
