Has anyone had this yet? Sounds very interesting.

I went to the brewery on Sunday to try and get some. They are not open on Sundays. :sunglasses:

It's most excellent, great citrus notes with that soft mouthfeel. The alcohol is so well hidden it's crazy.

I thought it was good but I didn't love it quite enough to walk out of the brewery with a $7.50 bottle. Some nice citrus notes up front, earthy pine bitterness on the finish, good drinkability. I enjoyed the glass I drank but I just realized that I like Mass Rising better so It prompted me to walk out with that.
Take that with a grain of salt because I see from the few ratings for the beer that others like it better than I do. It's definitely worth checking out for any hop head though.

Did you find it to be super sweet?

I love Mass Rising and like Kiwi even more...Thinking TrIPL will beat me both...time will tell.

Cool. That's my biggest issue with the so called 'triple' hoppy beers. They all seem to end up with a cloying sweetness that can't be evened out with any amount of hops that makes financial sense to the brewery.

Is it just bottles or are they doing growlers too? I can't tell from the listing on their site.

i bought both a growler and a few bottles of the Tripl. It's good but nowhere near as tasty as Kiwi R. For me , the lack of olfactory hop character affects my enjoyment. IT's smooth for 10%, perhaps too smooth. I had a friend visiting who was going thru a emotionally traumatic moment and he drank most of the growler in one day.

I have actually enjoyed the bottles more. Carbonation is higher and offsets the alcohol. One is definitely enough per day. if only Kiwi ,or an equivalent were an all year release.

Mass Rising is available year-round, and many consider it superior to Kiwi Rising.

Had some Mass Rising just recently. I forgot how much a hop bomb it is. Simcoe and Citra? I think?

Seeing as I love MR and I'm a sucker for simcoe, I want to say yes. I'd also guess there's Amarillo and maybe some mosaic...just a hunch.

I split a growler of this last night over some pizza and it was excellent. Not heavy or overwrought with sweetness. Great aromatics. Very smooth. Drinks far more like a 6% beer than the 10% it really has. Highly recommended.

As far as I know the hops are the same as 2nd Anniversary Lager so Mosaic, Amarillo, Apollo, Citra, Calypso and Simcoe according to the website.

Anyone else notice this is listed as a double IPA on Beeradvocate?

I had this last night (from a bottle) and liked it. I was surprised by the spicy bitter finish, but overall it is not far from what I was expecting having had many other Jack's Abby beers. I'll probably buy this again if I come across it.
