Can I land a KH?

    I've had around 100 barrel aged beers I liked more than King Henry. And fwiw, some of my Nevada drinking friends call me a Midwest homer.

    Not a bad beer, just floating around average to me, way too hot. I find some breweries (FW/5050) each make multiple barrel aged barleywines I prefer significantly more than KH.

    And why is KH on the top beers list, but Rare is not?

    I say save your ammo, come out to Reno for March Madness 2016, I'll pop my remaining bottle at that bottle share.

    well, i disagree.

    have you attended any tastings before? they're pretty neat. people show up and share bottles you may not own or refuse to buy, and you share some of your own. check them out.

    I hear what you're saying and I think I even saw your thread regarding that tasting, but I'm not just looking for a BA English Barleywine because I want to drink a BA English Barleywine. If I was I'd try to trade for something else at a comparable rating right away. But KH is just something I've wanted to taste since I heard about its impending release last year. People can say it's a result of the hype train but all the hype train is doing is impeding me from obtaining it. I'd want to get it even if it wasn't thought to be the best fucking BA barleywine ever concocted. For the same reason, I have 2 bottles of Black Ops when I've seen numerous accounts of people hating it. It's just at the top of my list of things I'd want to try.

    This is the most correct answer.

    A, B, and C all address the user's concern, but this answer is the most correct.

    Satiate your palate with Abacus, Kuhnhenn BBBW, Arctic Devil, Naked Evil or any of the other incredible BA barleywines out there. The sheer demands these days aren't worth the cost of entry. Or if you really want an amazing underappreciated gem, go get some Free State Old Backus, I held a tasting where many thought it was better than KH.

    I see what you're saying, but still think it's irrelevant. If I had a KH up for trade, got offered 4 b5's for it, I would take it. It's a no brainer imho, and I'd feel bad and juice him with extras to make up some amount of $4$. Maybe it's just cause I have a soul, idk.

    I've come to the realization that I'll never have KH...But I hear Kuhnhenn BBBW is better anyways.

    Do you want to know the horrible truth? Seriously I've never had Kuhn's but KH is the second best beer I've ever had after fresh CBS. If somehow GI ever leaks a little more KH and I'm lucky enough to get some, you'll be the first guy on my list to contact with a trade offer

    I agree. If I had a KH, I'd certainly trade it for $60 worth of Russian River River Brewery Release only Sour. That being said, people were being inundated with Beat B5 offers and the value of KH (justifiably or not) continues to soar.
