I need to try to make a mint flavored BCBS for sure. It's the holidays!

This sounds delicious, ill have to try it out. I often add a touch of bourbon to Ten Fidy or Narwhal and enjoy the flavor but have never tried adding anything else. Im getting a french press now for sure!

I have experimented with a number of flavors by infusing bourbon with various things. Right now the 4 I have on the go are:
    - Vanilla beans (a favorite)
    - Star Anise (another epic favorite)
    - Cardamom (not great)
    - Cocoa Nibs (solid)
Basically I take a bottle of decent 100 proof bourbon and divide it across however many mason jars I want to experiment with. I then throw in a heap of the spices and let it sit a few weeks. The alcohol makes a flavor essence, and I can also mix and match flavors this way on the fly without having to wait for things to steep in a french press.

A couple of drops of the flavored bourbon in the bottom of the glass before I pour adds a huge amount of flavor. the star anise and vanilla are particular favorites, but toasted coconut is being done tomorrow!

I had pretty good success with cracking a BCS open, pouring a shot out, replacing w/vanilla coconut whole coffee beans from Unique Coffee Roasters, using a wine stopper and letting it sit for 4 hours, delicious!

I've heard rumblings of bourbon county being french pressed with cinnamon toast crunch cereal and it being mind blowing.

i suggest using a medicine dropper. 3-5 drops typically is enough. i'd also recommend putting the drops in first, then pour the beer over.

We had a toasted coconut, cinnamon stick and chocolate french press BCBS last year. It was fantastic.

It's 14.95 on Amazon plus about 5 more for s&h. That sounds like an intriguing option for those of us that don't have French presses or cold brewers. How much liquid do you add per beer, and do you just add it to the beer after pouring it in the glass?

I've done this with both BCBS and Black Note…I gotta say, "Proprietors Black Note" is fucking fantastic.

I have tried a homemade serrano pepper version after tasting it at 2013 FOBAB. Just cut up the pepper, muddle it a bit and add BCBS. I did mine for 30-40min and it had some serious heat, so I would recommend a little less time if you try it.

WARNING: Highly recommend you remove all the pith (white part inside the pepper) unless you want your mouth on FIRE :grimacing:

OK so vanilla beans and cinnamon toast (separate tests) crunch is going to be my tries in a press. Any advice on how much of each to use?

Depends on how long you're gonna let it sit…I typically use about 1/2" of vanilla bean and let it sit for 2 hours.

Who's got a homemade Bramble/Backyard recipe? I have some organic raspberries and blackberries from Whole Foods and I'm wondering how many berries to use for 1 BCBS in a french press. I guess there's only one way to find out...
