Not a terrible idea...giving users "timeouts" and "bannings" from ISO:FT forums for confirmed bad trade behavior? Probably would take too much work, huh @blue-dream ??

I have made a suggestion in the past that once someone is called out as a bad trader, if they don't respond within a certain period of time their access to the rest of the site is prohibited until they show up in the thread. It is ludicrous that people are being called out, ignore the thread and peruse the rest of the site like nothing ever happened.

Your suggestion, along with what kbuzz and jrnyc said would be awesome, but I have no idea how hard / if that could be implemented. It just pisses me off how easy, frequently, and freely people screw honest people over on this website.

I was made aware of a thread in which the same person was opening, drinking, and then re-waxing and drinking bottles like Assassin, KBBS, etc. with who knows what. And then the entire forum gets warned that they will be perma-banned if it's found out that they gave out the guy's phone number to others. Apparently, he was receiving "threatening" texts due to the fact that he screwed a dozen people out of hundreds of dollars worth of beer, not to mention countless hours driving and waiting in line, and people were calling him out on it. I couldn't believe that this piece of shit was being defended. It just really boils my blood when the only penalty a scumbag like this really gets is negative trader comments. Like, wow. What a harsh thing to get. /endrant.

I'll be honest I have not been up to @troygreer 's brewery yet but it has been on my list of places to go spend my hard earn money... How he handles this situation will have an impact on whether he gets it. And when you are starting a new business bad advertising travels much faster than good... Just saying...

Does he own the brewery or is he just employed there? If he owns it & his lack of character hurts the business *kismet*. If he simply works there it would be a shame if his bad behavior hurt the business.

Jeevo, banning members does little to nothing to stop people. I have access to fewer computers than most people because BA is blocked where I work yet I'm reasonably certain that if I wanted to I could register another ID using a different computer.

Perhaps this member should be banned. Perhaps he will be banned. Realize that at that point the OPs chances of getting any beer probably plummet to practically nothing. Nor will the problem be solved in any deeper sense.

I'm not opposed to banning thieving shits but it ultimately solves very little.

This guy is rapidly going from a lousy slacker to a thieving shit as shown by his continued presence on the board coupled to a total lack of communication or any interest in fixing his fucked up mess.

Jeevo, I'd pay to hear the so called threatening phone calls that pos claims to have received. I suspect they were nothing more than people requesting he return the stolen beer. I saw one person describe him as weird but likeable & he must have seen a very different side to him than anyone I know. Weird? Yes (& I have nothing against weird. Hell, this site is devoted to maniacs spending mega bucks chasing elusive brews. We're all at least 'weird') Likeable??? Umm, no, not even close. Speaking as one who's not all that likeable as well, lol.

this has been discussed endlessly and this thread isn't the place for further discussion.

it's *not* happening because almost every situation is a 'he said, she said' situation.

we simply don't have the time or resources to investigate every claim of a bad trader.

trade at your own risk. if you can't handle losing out on cash, don't trade.

we're looking at other options to make the enhance the experience for good traders and make the impact to bad traders more significant, but outright banning isn't one of them for most situations.

@troygreer is on right now! He's viewing "Orlando breweries" thread. Give the man his beer. It's been long enough!

Surely any possibility of a reasonable defense goes out the window after the multiple tags received during this thread.

I do because i don't owe this thread any sort of response. I have emailed @ionlion to rectify the situation because my trade was with him. I have also accepted his trade request so he can leave me negative feedback.

I don't pay attention to the Alerts and noticed that I had a ton today. Thus I am catching up.

Others are making note of how you are handling your situation regardless.

    Cheers to you.

But you do have time to report posts about you that are directing you to this thread?

There is question that guy is a scumbag. However, it becomes a legal issue for the site when people are using it to relay his information. They were just protecting their asses.

Man-up and address this thread. If you had sent the OP his beer or responded to him, there would never been a reason for this to become all of our business. Hiding behind you will address this with him is real weak sauce. This thread is not reflecting well on you personally or any beer enterprises you are part of.

I think that thread had reached the point where additional posts weren't useful. As such, it was time to close it.

@troygeer You are a member of a community & as such you are obligated to the other members. It's not a legal obligation. There's not much that can be enforced but if the sense of community here means nothing to you that tells us a lot. This community requires trust, integrity & goodwill. I'm sorry for you if you can't see that & refuse to respect it.

Please note that this thread only exists because the member you were ripping off chose to share his experience with the community in the hopes that it might convince you to finally resolve the matter. That action was entirely appropriate & can also serve to protect other traders.

Yes, the OP made it BA business when he posted this thread, but realistically it was your own bad behavior.

@troygreer, I really think it would behoove you to address the concerns here in a more public fashion and make things right since your actions, or lack thereof, have caused this to become a public matter. I get that you've been busy trying to get a startup business going, but you never get another chance at a first impression.

As an Orlando BA and part of your target demographic, I offer this bit of startup advice. We talk.
