I dont think it ever left. the new design was part of the whole label and recipe re-construction from a few months back. I think its now called an Double Red IPA or something like that.

Yes it's a double and the enjoy by date is missing as usual and no bottle on.

Had some hop head red at a thanksgiving event and it was pretty good imo, pretty sure it did say double IPA as you guys stated.

They've had the new design for quite some time now. Now at 8.1%. Be on the lookout for Soul Style. It's their single IPA now and it rules.

Still pissed at them for ruining West Coast IPA, moving to 4 packs with no price drop, and I don't like those new labels much.

Haven't seen any of these in the Bay yet but I'll have to keep an eye out, thanks. Really liked Mosaic on tap.

When was this? We've had West Coast in GA a few years now, always in 4pks.

If I'm not mistaken a distributor told me double stout and hop head red will only be available in the discovery pack with west coast ipa.

Probably 4 years ago or so.
I too quit buying West Coast when they made the change to 4 pack.

Also, sorry nerd that my information was based on it being gone off the shelves for months and the fact it's a double now. I know that they are always changing their beers but IMO it can't be considered the same beer since it's a double now. Never really cared for them as a brewery for that reason and the lack of dates as always.

I just can't get into Green Flash.
But I do think the best beer they make is the Road Warrior Rye IPA (with mosaic hops).

So the term for someone who correctly comments on a beer's availability is a nerd. What is the term for someone who incorrectly comments on a beer's availability? LOL

"-2013" impies that it was retired at the end of 2013. You assumed it was "gone off the shelves" everywhere, just because it wasn't available around you? :stuck_out_tongue:

Lastly, if they can't be considered the same beer, why did you say you were glad to see Hop Head Red back on the shelves?
