Did I really just buy a 6-pack of this beer or $9.99? My first time having it and I was blown away. With all due respect to Sierra Nevada, is there another brewery out there that produces beers this good at such a reasonable price? I'd love to see the ratings on this beer if it was in a $12 bomber that you had to wait in line for.

    WOW..........

............another mess of a beer from Lagunitas. Wow this was bad. Nothing works in this at all. Welp, they got my $10. Never again. Keep giving them chances and they keep failing.

Picked up a sixer last night. I've not had this beer since I very first started drinking craft. I didn't like it that much then but I'm anxious to revisit it now.

I feel like you probably should have made that decision long ago. As bad as their beers are they'll probably be out of business within the year anyway.

Hey, people like their beers. I don't. I find them to be awful with no ability to balance flavors, hide alcohol, or be anything but harsh and astringent.

I will no longer be giving them my money. I was excited to try this beer but it failed big time for me. Only one I've ever liked is WTF. Everything else for ranges from 'meh' to 'how did this ever leave a professional brewery'?

Hey if it works for you then good, but it doesn't for me.

I grabbed a sixer of it last night at my local Safeway. Can't remember the bottle date, but it was like Nov 20th or so. Its very fresh, I'm gonna go get some more soon!

That makes more sense. Obviously taste is subjective, and no one would fault you if they're not your thing. But referring to their beers as "unbalanced messes" kinda sounds like hyperbole just for the sake of being contrarian. Most of the flaws you refer to are exactly the opposite of the qualities so many people love about their beers.

Anyone have a sense of how this one ages? If I recall the quality I didn't like when it was fresh was the hop presence.

Anyone else have experience with aging this one? I assume the hops would fall off a bit, but the heat would mellow out nicely. At 9.99 a sixer, I think Ill lay a few down for next winter.

This beer ages beautifully. I've saved Sixer's every year from the previous. It actually IMHO gets truer to what they describe the style as: barleywine. Drinking fresh I feel like its more of a strong English hoppy ale.

Finally got some. Great beer, lagunitas always does awesome. Honestly its way hoppier than i thought it would be considering the relatively low ibu. Really great mouthfeel too

I thought that it was a boozy mess with a Lysol spray finish. You guys can keep it. I'll take all the Sucks (or literally any other Lagunitas brew) instead.

I finally got to try it for the first time and to be honest it was good but one is my limit. The beer was too syrupy and sweet for my taste, I had to give 3 away and buy a 6 pack of Pizza Port Swamis to to make up for it and to catch a buzz.

I wasn't a big fan either, def preferred Sucks. Lagunitas is hit-and-miss for me anyway.

I got a bit of a laugh with these two right next to each other. One thing you can say for a Beer Advocate. No one heads to the middle. Of course if no one had differences of opinion we would probably still all be drinking Bud Light.

Found this at a hole in the wall bar in the woods of Northern New Jersey. I was the happiest guy there that night.

As far as hiding alcohol, I had no idea Brown Shugga was 9.9 percent ABV until I'd already finished a bottle and was reading the label. Frankly, I was surprised.

I actually felt some alcohol burn. I just had a Raison D'Extra last night and felt less alcohol in that beer as opposed to Brown Shugga. Still baffled by the love this and many of their beers get, they're just not well made at all.
