So, does anyone in the group know of any good craft breweries between Pittsburgh and Wheeling WV? Gonna be out there briefly next week for work.

I've heard good things about Roundabout in Pittsburgh. Not sure if there's much between those two places though. @PSU_Mike ?

It's certainly out of the way but might be worth the visit, Voodoo is up near Erie. I assume you're getting to Pittsburgh somehow, in which case there are a TON of places in OH that are can't miss.

You should also consider East End, makers of Gratitude barleywine; though I doubt they'll have any of that, they make other great beer too.

@Steve_Oldrati is still on hiatus until tomorrow, but he would be a great resource and maybe he'll see this tag and jump in before you're in the area.

So, I just realized Henry left in 07, so, since Van Persie has been picked, I will go with Fabregas.

Between there is kind of a deadzone. There are some breweries that are close to RT 70 (Grist House and Hitchhiker for starters but I can't comment on their beer yet) and others in the city of Pittsburgh that are gaining steam. Roundabout is the best in the city imo. Steve, the owner, brewed for Firestone and Schlafly before opening Roundabout. His hoppier offerings are very flavorful with a low bitterness. I enjoy them a lot. Draai Laag is interesting for left-of-center Belgian inspired sours and abbey ales. They are hit or miss due to their experimental nature. The Brew Gentleman in Braddock is getting some solid reviews from people I trust. They seem to do malty styles well from what I read.

Contrary to what @Lehighace06 said, I wouldn't bother going to East End. I live .7 miles from them and I maybe stop by 2-3 times a year. They are not producing much that makes me want to run over there. Although, with the grand opening of the brewpub portion of their new facility, they may have BA Grat on tap still. I had it and it needed more A in the B.

Any other questions, just BM me or stop in the Pittsburgh thread in the mid-atlantic forum. It's super active and you'll have 10 people answering your questions.

Yo @UcDru where in Ohio are you located? There's a potential bottle share happening in Columbus on my way back to MI on the 23rd. You're invited!

@kgncfl and @Treebute are meeting me and we plan to open some nice bottles. That is assuming my sister-in-law doesn't give birth before the 23rd.

EDIT: any other Ohioans, or people that want to travel, are certainly welcome as well.

Definitely deferring to Mike here, I've never been to the brewpub, I just know I look longingly upon a lot of their beers.

Ian I'm going to be staying in Battle Creek with a potential stop up in Grand Rapids. Especially if they have CBS anywhere up there!

I had my wife put the box in the garage so it will stay chilled enough to open a beer while I unpack.
