Looks like they had sold out of both reg and bourbon when I dropped by around 8PM last night.

Post in the trade forums. You might have better luck there.

I'm assuming Total Wine in Manassas has some left. My father picked up 7 bottles. :astonished:

TJ's in Clarendon has a few cases of both Bourbon and regular GBS. No limit.

i went to that location yesterday morning around 10am or so and grabbed 4 bourbon gbs. there must have been 20 bombers of the regular there. the bourbon was getting low after i had grabbed my 4 bottles. i already have all 4 accounted for in trading and need to replenish my supplies.

Yup, seems like it is all over the place. Wegmans fairfax has it in the shelf, whole foods Vienna also has it. I suspect other stores have similar quantities. $12.99 at both locations..

I walked into Norms this afternoon and they were just putting the Bourbon barrel aged GBS on the rack...it didnt last long at all...i dont even think they had enought time to put it on their FB and Twitter pages. Whole Foods in Vienna and Falls Church were also already sold out....its going quick

TJ's Alexandria still has two and a half cases of Bourbon GBS left, plus a few bottles of the regular, as of a couple hours ago.

I wouldn't go crazy trying to find a bottle of this, I think the regular GBS is better. The flavor additives are so strong and the time spent in the barrel was pretty short, the taste of the base beer overpowers most of what the barrel adds, and what does come through I don't think is an improvement.

Probably a dumb question, but if i'm not a fan of spiced beers, i probably won't enjoy GBS, right?

Abraxas is probably the only spiced beer that i've really enjoyed. Can't stand stuff like Great Lakes Christmas Ale.

Just a price question, what's the price difference between bourbon gbs compared to the regular
    gbs?

Between $3-4. The GBS is usually $10-12, while BGBS is $13-15.

Do you like gingerbread or other ginger-centric foods? If you do, then I'd recommend giving it a shot.

If you don't like Great Lakes Xmas, I don't think you'll like GBS-- similarly ginger heavy. That said, I pretty much hate spiced beers (did not like even Xocoveza), but I thought GBS was well done (but a bit sweet for me). I can see why it's so hyped. A small pour was all I needed, though-- didn't like it enough to buy it and passed on the couple of opportunities I had.

I certainly agreed with this sentiment in years past, and I even posted as much in the BA GBS release thread this year.

However, after tasting some out of the bottle the other night, I have to say that I think BA GBS is pretty incredible this year.

Is this a ruse? Like, posting a forecast showing the freezing cold weather for the Resolute release in order to increase your chances of being first in line? =) Just Joking.

Haha no, not a ruse. I did enjoy the beer (this was the first time I have had it), I just know how it feels when you really want something and can't seem to get your hands on it, and then you hear about some place an hour away that has it, and you start to think about that drive or what you could trade for it...

I'm just saying don't break your neck for it, and don't be super disappointed if you miss out.
