Had fresh samples of the whole lineup yesterday and, while I've had most of them from my time on the east coast, I was impressed. I'm going to be crushing Sweet Action all year, the mouthfeel on that beer is incredible. Resin tasted straight out of San Diego, Bengali was nice, while restrained. None were malty. The Crisp was exactly that. Excited!

Wish this had happened a few months ago so we could've gotten Sensi. Could've had 41ish fresh hopped beers instead of just 40ish.

I agree, he's here talking to us and at the moment none of us can even buy his beer. That level of commitment to his company and relationship with (potential) customers is awesome. It honestly made me feel a little guilty to say I didn't like the beers I had. If Sixpoint makes it to WA I'll happily try the rest of the line.

Oh, and I have to correct my earlier post. I didn't have Resin, I had Sensi and that was the beer with the odd herbal hop character. It was Bengali that I found malty ... but who knows how old the keg was or quality of the lines.

A keg of Three Beans was at Brews for New Avenues this year  It went fast, one of my favorites of the fest!
Hopefully @Sixpoint will be so kind and donate a keg of it again for Brews 2015:wink:

    Hi John,

I think you might be referring to our tap event at Max's Taphouse? There were a variety of issues with that event. It would be good to sit down with you and taste the beers now - fresh. Given your inclination to like clean-fermented, hoppy beers, I think you'll be quite satisfied.

    QUOTE]

Fair enough. You're right, it was the event at Max's. I'm more than willing to give your beers another chance. It was, of course, some years ago, and there could have been a variety of reasons why the beers at that event didn't show their very best (or to be more accurate, why I felt they didn't show all that well... there were clearly folks in attendance who enjoyed what was on offer).

The Bengali I first tried at an IPA event up in SEPA... my impression then was simply that it was not made in a style I cared for... but even so, I'm more than willing to give it another chance as well.

Best of luck, and welcome to Oregon!

I've had a bunch of Resin, but not for about a year. I always really enjoyed it when fresh, so I'm excited to pick up some locally and see if how it compares to what I remember

I go back to Ohio a couple of times a year, so I've had my fair share of Sixpoint's offerings. Always solid beers, IMO. I'd love to see some Diesel make it out this way.

Fresh Resin is the business, and I could def make room for The Crisp in hot weather. Solid beer.

Very nice to meet Shane at the growler guy bottle share today.

Tried the entire line-up Shane brought by, and didn't taste a dud in the bunch. While I didn't feel the Resin or Bengali stood out, both beers were solid, well crafted IPA's and DIPA's. I'm not sure either beer will stand out, given what I'm accustomed to drinking in the NW, but both beers were enjoyable, and I assume will do just fine in the NW market place. (personally, I think the sleek look for the cans will be go over well, and my hat's off to whoever does the marketing at six points). The sweet action was good for what it was (a hoppy, clean, well crafted blonde/cream ale), but at least for me, the stand out of the bunch was the red ale (the global warmer). Shane mentioned that reviews of six points beers have gradually improved over time, and I saw that was the case with this beer. It's no surprise. I mostly drink beer on tap, but global warmer is good enough for it to make my short list of bottle/cans that I drink at home from time to time. Good stuff!!!

Stranger things have happened. There's a smallish coffee roaster near Anacortes that has a sit-down retail space bordering on Starbuckian levels in...Murray, Kentucky, so anything's possible.

I've only had Resin, included as an extra in a trade. Not a life-changing experience (unlike some of the Maine Beer Co.'s also included in the same box) but I thought it was very good. One of those DIPAs that are so malty they almost qualify as a barleywine. Totally love the funky, retro-ish cans.

I hate barleywines, mainly due to the sweetness, so I am rather surprised by this.
I really enjoy Resin and thought it was a beautiful, citrusy DIPA w a nice balance of malt in the back. perhaps you had some older cans?
