just picked up a four pack for 17 bucks.I understand at the brewery it was 27 bucks for a four pack. Either holiday markets got it priced wrong or there's some serious hosing going on, especially by the brewery. a $10 hose job on a four pack at the Brewery is pretty fucked up in my book

The retail price is $24.99/4pk per the brewery and distributor in west MI. I paid $53 and change OTD for two 4pks at the brewery. If you are getting it for less, consider yourself lucky because retailers are pricing it wrong, potentially violating laws restricting them from selling it for less than cost.

I paid $15.99 at my local store downriver. The other stores I heard about were all charging under $20.

I'm just going off of what a distributor told me today. Take it for what you will, I'm certainly not passing along secondhand info.

Considering a 4pk contains 64oz, 4 more ounces than 5 12oz beers, less than $5 for 12oz is a fair price for a BBA beer with more than a 10% ABV

Nope, the pricing was correct per the invoice, same as Tart Side of the Moon.

Not arguing fair price, hell I pointed out to the upset brewery patron that it was just shy of three bombers of BBA quad and still a good price. His statement was that this was way out of line of their previous special releases and I thought he was exaggerating, till I heard/saw store prices. That being said, I think a BBA quad that just cracks 10% is kinda weak.

Express Island Convenience at 112th & Chicago Dr. had a couple packs left this afternoon. $23-ish I think.

Not sure on how their tier system works, just that I ordered both beers and they came in at the same price

thanks for not throwing a bigger tag on it and for giving me a chance to try it. And sorry for having your business practices questioned here, not the way I saw it.

If Holidays priced according to their invoice, good for them, certainly didn't intend to question their business practices. Somewhere along the distribution chain, the pricing was miscommunicated. Was it fair for you to question Brewery Vivant selling it for full retail price and "hosing people" while retailers charged Tier 3 pricing for a Tier 5 beer? And can you seriously believe that BV would purposely charge customers $9 more than what they anticipated pricing to be at the retail level. As I said, I spoke with a distributor here on the west side of the state and he confirmed that retail price was supposed to be $24.99.

    Can we talk beer now?

Had one last night and I really liked it. Yes its sweet, a bit, but not cloying...it works...very well. The sweetness from the barrel offsets and matched very well with the Belgian funkiness. Its very complex and has a ton of different flavors going on. I definitely get the bourbon flavor but like someone else said its not overpowering...its definitely there though.

Actually I should have told you it sucked so I could go find more lol

To answer your questions, Yes, I think it's fair to question the price difference, especially when you don't know the Tier 3/5 goof up. And no, I don't seriously believe BV would do anything intentionally deceitful. I think it's fine to question it, though. Bought a couple cans yesterday, can't wait to crack one!

Oh, I agree to question but not make assumptions that anyone did any of this intentionally (my comment mainly intended for the individual that referred to the pricing difference as a potential "hosing" by the brewery).

Holiday, I can assure you that if you called your distributor, and they called Brewery Vivant there would be a realization that someone dropped the ball. Anyway not my concern, just feel its unfortunate that people always seem so willing to assume a brewery is trying to screw them. And I'm not necessarily referring to just comments made here, but in some social media sites as well.
