Received email, but didn't see any news about this with search, or in the forums here. The links in the email led to the Fort description and the following link. Hoping to be able to try this out at the DFH brewpubs in NoVa, since I've never had it. My girlfriend is really hoping we to see it at local brewpubs because she has had it. Remind me to update the beer to "unretire" it in 9 months.

I've had it at a brewfest and it's definitely a raspberry bomb. The sample I tried was 3 years old and the alcohol burn was present, but I wouldn't say that the beer was hot.

I'm ok with them rereleasing it, but I'm a bit upset that WWS won't be brewed next year according to that calendar. I'd prefer WWS instead of Fort.

    For those that don't know (I didn't)

Fort is: "An ale brewed with a ridiculous amount of pureed raspberries (over a ton of 'em!). Fort has a Belgian-style base, then we follow a similar fermentation process to the one we use on our other super-high ABV beers, 120 Minute IPA and World Wide Stout."

Scores of 84/89 here on BA.

Listed ABV of 18%, wont be seeing this here in NC.

This is basically raspberry 120, which is awesome in my book. A really great sipper in the winter. I have a few '11s left and a couple of '06s...

I think this beer deserves a better rating than it gets, but such is life.

now that they are making it again I won't be so tempted to open the 2005 that I have (still made with puree before they switched to juice) wonder which one 2015 will be, not that it really matters or anything.

So is the '06 made with juice instead of puree? Are you one-upping me???

And you call yourself a beer advocate. Amateur.

I am very excited to probably finally have a chance to have Fort. It's one of the few DFH beers I have not drank, and since they used to be my favorite brewery (way back in the beginning), this is a big moment for me.

Glad to see Fort but much like WWS, I don't see My Antonia on the release either. Really liked that beer.....Love Imperial Pilsners....hopefully Founders will decide to brew Dissenter more than once

I agree with your entire post. Looking forward to trying Fort, but I'm sure it'll also spend a few years in the cellar beforehand.

I think My Antonia has been retired. The Del Borgo collaboration is insanely good! I should really buy a bottle before it all disappears. And, if Dissenter is bottled seasonally, or even year round, I'd keep this in the fridge for sure. Fantastic pilsner! Something that I wish was around more.

Definitely excited for Fort and to see some beers I haven't had from them yet. But I will certainly miss olde school barleywine. Luckily I stocked up on the last two releases of it.

Here's to hoping they can get it up to 18% since the reason they stopped brewing it was because they weren't able to anymore.

Fort is pretty cool and I'm glad they are going to brew it again, but I would love to see them brew Festina Lente again.

With a group it's a commitment, by yourself it's called alcohol poisoning.
