Did anyone go to this? I can't go because I gotta work but my buddy lives close and he'll go and get some stuff for me. Does anyone know what bottles and cans they have available?
I went yesterday at opening. They just had 2 beers to go; Bitches' Bank and Cone Crusher. I didn't try Bitches' Bank (RIS) but Cone Crusher IPA was really good. Borderline DIPA - great hop profile and not as sweet as some other IPA's at 8.6% abv. 6 pack of cans - definitely worth trying. Your buddy will enjoy the tap options.
Thanks alot. I was hoping for hunter cherry. So they had borderline also in cans of just tap? Was it really busy?
Sorry, my reply sucked... Cone Crusher IPA is stronger than your typical IPA - it is a borderline double. Same beer - bad explanation. It wasn't too crowded, but it was a Friday afternoon. I'm sure today will be busier. I think there is live music most of the day today and tomorrow. Hunter Cherry is likely to be on a rotating tap, but no bottles to go.
I went Friday and Saturday, and the focus wasn't on releasing bottles, but more on the taps. They did have a decent list of guest bottles (too long for me to remember), though. Really good live music, and just a good time celebrating their one year anny. They had a rotating set of guest taps (Pipeworks Ninja vs Unicorn, Prairie Christmas Bomb, Sun King Kung Pao Brett were on today, and notable from Friday and Saturday include Transient Whiskey Barrel Presque, Barrel Aged Timmie from Sun King, and Evil Twin's Imperial Biscotti Break Natale, among others). And, they were also putting on a wide variety of 18th St. brews, including pretty much all the Hunter varieties, including the new coconut that was on today. They threw up some Sinister, and quite a few others. But, for me, the absolute highlight was the Barrel Aged Orange Hunter. It was killer. 11.5% abv, but dangerously smooth, and just perfect. I'm not one for hyperbole; but it was perfect. I thought I heard that the coconut Hunter is next up for bottling, but I know that the orange is also on the horizon.
They had a great list of taps going, Bitches Bank and BA Hunter were the highlights for me. Drinking a cone crusher right now and it is definitely enough to keep me going back for more. It was great to finally hit-up this small watering hole, super friendly staff, good vibes and good beer, enough said.
