Would have been nice if they stuck with that plan. They ended up putting a 2 4-pack limit on it so only half the people got it. When I got #321, I was happy to know I was getting some, until I filled out the order form and saw the raised limit, then I knew I was getting shut out, unless there was more bottled. There wasn't:slight_frown: I still got to try it on tap, and to my surprise, I actually still preferred the regular bb to the rum, so was a little less dissappointed. I am sure this disappointed a lot of people though. It may also make it harder to trade for because only 230 people were able to by it.

Is this a MI only release or will it get some national distribution?

Brewery only I believe, it's not easy to get.

It's absolutely a brewery-only release, no distro, head for the trading boards.

I was #290 and got shut out of everything 'special' but a case of Rum Elf. We should have EASILY gotten the '13 vintage and the Bourbrum until they doubled the allocation limit on the order form at the last second. THAT SUCKED BIG TIME. Worst move I've seen pulled.

I wouldn't sweat it. It was good but wasn't mind blowing like I thought it would be.

I was saddened that the Raspberry Lambic wasn't bottled this year. That stuff was amazing, not that I'd have had a chance at any of those either, sonsabitches.

Double barrel Pt5 sounds awesome. Hopefully, it is not infected like half the specialty bottles were at that last years 4 Elves party...

Yeah, I couldn't believe they changed the plan to allow half the number of people to get twice the beer either. Ridiculous move. When I saw the order form I was impressed because I figured they just lied about how much they had to surprise the first 432 with 2 4-packs instead of 1. As for the beer, it's fantastic.

Is BBp5th still for sales at the brewery?

We got it on tap, and it was really, really good. But we also tasted '14 BBPT5, and the Rum Barrel 4 Elf, and my buddy wondered (and I'm inclined to agree) if the Rum barrel part of the Bourbrum didn't happen by putting the BBPT5 into the rum barrels that had previously held the Rum Barrel 4 Elf, because there is some winter warmer-type spice on the back end of the Bourbrum.

Hopefully some other people who sampled these might have an opinion, or someone has some facts (and not just drunk guy opinions) about the creation of the Bourbrum.

A total dick move on their part!!!! We got srewed and wont be back....Do what you say you are gonna do next time Dark Horse people came from all over Chicago, Wisconsin and Various other places they deserved better than that. One of the people we went with his sister in law and husband got back to the brewery after 5 O'clock to pick their orders up and said that a ton of the Double Barrel was there and he asked about it and was told to leave this was after the initial 213 had their double orders filled. Another asswipe move on DH's part. Founder cuts limits in half and now this it must be something in the water up there in Skunk Weaselville to just be complete jerks. I suppose Kuhnhenns will be next in line 4 a screw job.

Actually... you may be correct there. I noticed the warmer spice and thought it must have been spiced rum barrels. But what you said makes a lot more sense. Good call.
