Definitely a departure from most other stouts. Worlds apart from a Russian Imperial Stout.

Stone Master of Disguise might be worthwhile if you can find it. The golden stout trumps even a veteran's understanding of the style.

Deschutes Obsidian Stout and Sam Adams Cream Stout are both VERY drinkable stouts.

funny you say that, when I drink an IPA I think the initial taste is good but then BAM I get smacked with this really dry extremely bitter grapefruit taste. LOL!

That dry leaf tobacco taste is what really makes me love Stouts. Although, I seem to get this taste most often with Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout. This beer is soooo roasty, it almost tastes like a smoked beer.

    I'll have to reinforce...

    Deschutes Obsidian Stout
    Sierra Nevada Stout
    Sam Adams Cream Stout
Firestone Walker Velvet Merlin (seasonal, get it while you can, it's very good)
Deschutes Black Butte Porter (has a solid hop presence you may enjoy)

Those are my go-to porters/stouts; all very available, affordable, and tasty.

I suspect you would enjoy drinking Lavery Belfast Black Smoked Porter; I really like that beer!

Finish clean? You're shit outta luck. As far as I know, Budweiser doesn't make a stout.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will see if we get this beer but I don't think I've ever seen it here.

    8. Dungarvan Coffee and oatmeal stout

Good luck... but if you are a real IPA DIPA man then there is a gulf of taste you need to cross first. Go mild and build your way up from there, use the reviews on this suit to guide you and enjoy the journey...

Kindly suggest that maybe you just don't like stouts. Go ahead, try people's suggestions, but goodness gracious man just be open to maybe you don't like stouts.

Used to love Guinness but I have found so many better tasting stouts and I never get a chewing tobacco flavor off any of them. If you like Irish dry stouts try North Coast Old No. 38 Stout, it's a dry Irish stout brewed in CA.
I really enjoy oatmeal stouts as I find them very drinkable. Barney Flats, Samuel Smith's , and Velvet Merlin are my favorites. As some of the earlier posts have stated, maybe stouts just aren't for you.

TenFidy is definitely worth a shot. I love it. And if you end up enjoying it, grab a few to hold on to for a while. It ages really well, and it is a fun beer to have as a vertical.

I pretty much despise the stuff.. but storm king stout has a hop finish that you may like if your an ipa guy.

But best thing you can do imo is to go for all the top rated stouts till you find one you like.. this process will give your palate some time to as adapt also
