Agree. I just stopped there and was told "if there are any leftovers that they'll bring them over to the store tomorrow."

I just replied to a BM from another member here.....

I was not able to attend this year as well.
I have a buddy who went and got a hotel room near by. He was able to grab his full allotment yesterday. This morning he stopped by the brewery before he headed back north(where we are both from). He said he was able to scoop up 2 extra 4 packs for me. They were offering cases (1 case PP limit).
So, that being said, he should be back in town in an hour or so with some BBPt5th for me.

My only regret of the whole thing is that I didn't get contact info for the guy in front of me in line. He was shocked at how bad I want to try Lambeak Loves Blood Orange and I wanted to set up a trade :-/

Seems like he got lucky considering the brewery wasn't even officially open before noon... unfortunately it seems to depend upon who you actually talk to half the time.

Would've been nice if I could've just given them my money and gotten leftover beer in return, seeing as I couldn't make the party yesterday and can't just stroll in on Monday afternoon... seems there's always something with these release beers. Always plenty of good beer on the shelves though!

All this for a beer that isn't even as good as regular BCBS

Haha. I know exactly what it's supposed to be like which is why the guy in front of me was so confused that I wanted it if anyone has one and would like to trade...

1.) BBPT5 is better than BCBS

2.) I'd like to know where we can get 2 cases of BCBS in Michigan in one location (and to be honest, if you didn't care for the extras, showing up at 10am still guaranteed that 2 cases).

    1. No way, BCBS has beat out BBPt5 in every blind tasting I have participated in including video blind tastings I have watched online.

    2. What does this have to do with anything? People from IL drive to MI for BBPt5, people from MI drive to IL for BCBS. The allotment is great, I'm not disputing that. But it seems most people just use it for trade bait for better beer.

Note: I think regular Pt5 is one of the best Russian Imperial Stouts you can buy and drink fresh.

Opinions are like assholes, we all have them, and I should have put that disclaimer up, but I thought that was implied. I've had both. BBAPT5 is better to me and my friends. BCBS is too sweet and boozey in comparison imo.

And I don't even know to address your second statement. It really makes no sense.

BN>BCBS>BBPt5 is how it goes for me.

Figured Id throw in my 2 cents/experience here (not that it matters haha). Got there at 12:30 and ended up at #454. I did witness a good deal of line cutting but really doesn't matter. I talked to a number of people who showed up at 10:30 and ended up at #350ish, so I guess it affected everyone in a staggered manner.

Regardless...I have zero complaints about the event. Security was top notch. The line/bottle share blew my expectations out of the water. I ended up with the allotment of BBpt5, which is all I had hoped for anyway. Had to wait until 5pm to pick up my order but that gave me adequate time to enjoy the party, which was amazing.

BourbRum...I honestly preferred the normal BBpt5. Not to take away from the BourbRum, which was amazing, but just my personal preference. 2013 BBpt5 was the Best in Show, IMO.

Anywho....good shit Dark Horse, see ya next year. And anyone I ran into in line, good to meet you and enjoyed the hospitality. Hoping I was able to return the favor with our beer and fire (until security made us put it out at 4am haha)

Was that you guys that had the big fire pit that looked like you were sending out smoke signals when you poured the water on it? Lol

We were one of the two fires pouring out smoke haha. We went back to our car at 3:30 to load up on more wood. Filled up our fire pit and had a big fire roaring. Security came around at 4am and we had to use 2 gallons of water to finally put it out. Sorry for those affected bye the smoke...:flushed:
