I've only had it on tap, but it definitely didn't do anything special for me. If I can find it on tap again this year I'll give it a second shot, but yeah, we're in the same boat.

Just picked one up in Glen Ellyn as well as Greenbush Delusion. More excited about the latter.

Most Binny's in Chicago should have them today

For some reason, Lakeview Binny's did not. LP's got it though. 1 per.

Yeah. 2010 was THE year for The Abyss. Hasn't been anywhere near as good (to me) since, and this year is just too much wine. I'll try the second bottle I got in 12 months, but I don't have high hopes. Wine aging is best used for sours - just my opinion!

In Chicago area many stores got Abyss distribution today since Wirtz is working on a holiday schedule. All smaller/independent stores should have it by the end of the week. Got 3 bottles and an Avery Tweak which is supposed to be great.

There are a few stores in Fairbanks, AK that are still sitting on bottles of 2013. This years will be delivered tomorrow. I ordered 20 cases for Brown Jug.

@scream good choice. BA rasputin is incredible this year and absolutly blows away the abyss.

Haven't tried 2014 yet, but my 2010 bottle still had its 11.99 sticker on it. I miss those days.

I would pay $15 for 22 oz of Abyss over $20 for 16 oz of BA Old Rasputin any day of the week. The fact that Abyss is a better beer (imho) only makes the crazy price difference even more inexplicable. BA Old Rasputin tasted to me like someone had dropped a shot of bourbon into my stout.

All that said, I'm really hoping the reports of soy sauce flavors in 2014 Abyss are just outliers. At about 8-9 mos. it's an amazing beer. I probably won't open one until at least 6 months in.

Had one on draft at lunch today, tasty, still a little coarse right now, but no soy sauce to be sure. Hope I see some in the bottle this, year, got skunked last year. I do like these better with age
