Had some Lagunita's Brown Shugga and SN Celebration on hand and decided to get experimental and mix a little bit of each. The result is a pretty smooth-drinking hoppy ale but I noticed hints of mustard, especially in the initial aroma and a little in the taste. I was a little surprised/confused by this but it wasn't bad. I enjoyed it. Maybe I'm just crazy but I thought this was an interesting experience.

I have these on hand for a Christmas party. Depending on how many I have I might repeat your experiment.

That sounds like a base for a kickass dipping sauce.

I might take your discovery and incorporate it into some IPA pickles.

Half and half those two beers
    Ground mustard seed
    Ground turmeric
Cracked black pepper (to taste, if desired)
    Brown sugar (and/or molasses)
    Habenero powder
    Love

Or maybe a glaze for pork steaks or baked ham

    Just another vessel for pretzels!

I too have both on hand and may need to experiment to see if the combination yields similar tasting results. (I'm not much of a beer 'mixologist', but I have enough to give it a go so why not?).

    Also, reminds me of these:

I have yet to meet a mustard I didn't like, so I may have to try this as well. Coincidentally enough, these were the two cases of beer I was torn between purchasing last night.

I have never mixed beer, but I once drank a Sierra Nevada Tumbler directly after a Terrapin Hopsecutioner, and somehow my disrupted palate could taste a little bacon in it.

Bring in the Weiss Wurst and pretzelen and you have yourself a new Bavarian tradition.
