A chocolate stout that has hit the shelves. Anyone tried it yet?

Haven't seen it yet. Will report back as soon as I find it on shelves. Good for them for trying something new!

I am curious if it sells well for them. Definitely outside of their normal lineup.

101 was the Czech Pilsner, 102 was the Double Wheat, 103 was the Wild Hare (getting less sure)...

    What were 104 and 105?

Shiner 105 does not exist in untappd. I will say there is no beer. But, oddly, there is no listing for 104 either, so that could just mean that they didnt have 105 in the name.

Anybody else out there wish they'd bring back Commemorator?

Commemorator was a Starkbier? I thought it kept its head pretty well...

Beer in Big D posted about it this morning. I really hope you can get it in a gift box!

There was a two-year span between the releases of 103 and 104. White Wing was actually released in Spoetzl's 105th year.

Must troll the supreme troll. Wild Hare was released spring 2012, White Wing released Nov 2013, technically still the 104th anniversary. 2014 had no 105th anniversary beer, even though the 106 is out now.

Enjoying it right now...I was a bit gun shy as I had the 100 year Commemorator and after over 20 years of drinking beer, it was THE WORST beer I had ever tried. It was the first beer I could not finish. I gave the remaining 5 to another beer buddy of mine who had the same reaction and gave it to his cousin.

This beer is EXCELLENT if you enjoy a chocolate beer. It's almost like drinking chocolate milk mixed with a touch of coffee. Sweet smell of cocoa, surprisingly it is not thick when it hits the palate. Smooth, very light for a dark beer. Absolutely love this beer.

Not only NO but HECK NO!!! This was by FAR the WORST beer I have ever tried in my entire life...and I have sampled well over 1,000 different beers. I could not even finish the 6 pack...I barely could choke down 1. Handed my remaining 5 to another beer buddy of mine to try. He had the same reaction and he handed off the remaining 4 after pouring out the one that he tried. I have NEVER had that type of experience before.

That's the strongest reaction I've ever seen to Commemorator. Did you have it back in 2010 or more recently? I don't think it would have held up more than a couple of years.

The Chocolate Stout is a great beer. It has a great chocolate hit, but not overly sweet. I would have a hard time classifying this as a stout because it doesn't have the weight. Which is a good thing because I feel you can sit down and throw a couple of these down back to back. Great beer to finish the night with, also would think this is the beer that could bring your girlfriend/wife over to somewhat liking beer if she had this with desert

This beer is not good. It tastes like they took Shiner Black, added some raw Hershey's cocoa powder and a few Tootsie Rolls, and slapped a new label on it.

Mine tastes exactly like a chocolate cake. Exactly. As a homebrewer, I haven't the slightest idea how it got to be that way. I get chocolate, but really, just like cake.
