It's an imperial version of their Turmoil Black IPA

    1st thought: WANT.
2nd thought: Actually, I'd rather have a Pallet Jack.
3rd thought: I'll bet Growler Guys still has Pallet Jack on tap. Guess I don't have to drive to Baker City after all.
    4th thought: Squirrel!

Pretty sure I saw on Facebook bottles would be only at the tasting room.

    From Barley Brown's Instagram,

"Limited bottle release of CHAOS 2014. Released once a year since 2006. We thought this "Irresponsible use of hops" would be a fitting beer to cram into bottles and sell at the brewery. CHAOS is a Moxee style black ale. 10.3% abv, over 12 pounds of hops per barrel. More details to follow".

Sounds like a brewery only release. I always thought Chaos was an Imperial Turmoil. :/ Either way, It's delicious. Road trip to Baker City, anyone?

Random side note; Zupan's on Belmont had Pallet Jack for $10/growler as of yesterday. It tasted a bit faded and was likely a couple months old, but if GG doesn't have it on tap you could go there for your fix.

Interesting. Looks like they've either boosted the ABV or the entry on BA is wrong.

I'd love to do this side by side with Armored Fist!

Chaos is absolutely killer. I've been lucky enough to have it a few times fresh and it's right up there with Fist, if not better. I doubt any bottles will come this way, but apex and Belmont should probably see a keg.

Everyone's taste is different, but I would say no way (and I love me some Tank Slapper).

That being said... the two beers are really, really different (IMHO), so it's hard to compare them. Not that it matters... how often do you see any beer bar where both Tank Slapper and Notorious are available? So it's not as if I'm ever in a position where I have to choose between the two. Usually, I'm overjoyed if I see either beer on a tap list.

Absolutely agree. Just throwing it out there because I thought it would be fun to see the reaction. They are two of the three beers I have rated a 5 on here btw...I would say a better comp for Tank Slapper would be Bad Boy by Alpine and a better comp for Notorious would be Simtra...all personal taste of course just fun to discuss

We brew CHAOS once a year (since 2006), and thought it would be cool to put some in bottles and sell them at the brewery. Will we do it again? Who knows... a lot of our best (and worst) decisions are fueled by late night beer over-consumption. We sold a little under 1/2 of the bottles yesterday, mostly to locals, but we also had some people drive from LaGrande, Pendleton, Boise, Portland, and Salem. Kegs of CHAOS will be headed out to distributors over the next couple weeks.

Right after Christmas, we'll be filling tanks with Double IPAs
