It's called Sierra Nevada or Lagunitas.

Imperial stout with cinnamon, maple, oatmeal, coffee; aged in bourbon barrels. I think a few of these exist, they are just extremely hard to get.

Has anything ever come relatively close to that for you?

Herold Black Lager from the Czech republic, it was pretty rich and smooth as liquid velvet. What I'm imagining is a touch heftier, but it would be great if I could get that one again.

It's also possible that there are higher gravity Czech dark lagers that we just don't see over here.

I'd be happy to take a bitter that was soft and light but layered... sold in affordable 6 packs and released year-round... not too in demand that I couldn't get any, but in demand enough that the sixers on the shelf aren't from a year ago.

Maybe you are seeking a Czech Dark Lager (Tmavý Ležák or Tmavé Speciální Pivo)?

My homebrewed Tmavý Ležák sounds pretty close to what you are describing.

    Cheers!

Edit: “It's also possible that there are higher gravity Czech dark lagers that we just don't see over here.” A Tmavé Speciální Pivo is probably what you are seeking; they can be in the neighborhood of 6% ABV.

Going by the reviews, there are many beers that fit that description.

And I am trying them all. Somehow, I do not taste half the things I read are in there. I guess I am always getting the factory seconds. But those damn descriptions are what I am looking for.

A heavily dry hopped saison with brett barrel aged in wine barrels. I actually have a bottle of Love Buzz Saison that I haven't tried so hopefully this is the one.

Saison Brett by Boulevard is about as perfect as I could hope for from a beer. I guess if I could change one thing it would be making a beer with a very similar flavor profile but only being about 6% abv instead of the 8.5% it currently is. That way I could have more than 2 without wanting to take a nap after.

Tough question. So many great styles out there now that are being taken to the next level. For me though, its BB4D. Every time I have that beer it blows my mind.
