I saw Alesmith released 394 in six packs. I live in Orange County and not up on all that is going on at Alesmith. I have 2 questions: 1) is this a sign of more six pack offerings 2) is pale ale 394 being distroed outside SD?
1)Possibly, but this was announced a bit ago. They sold (500) 6-packs via BPT and then had another (1000) 6-packs at the brewery. It wasn't like this randomly popped up. 2)It's not being distro'd in SD, so it's definitely not being distro'd outside SD. That's not to say it won't eventually get distro though.
Picked up my six pack today and drank a bottle. So good. I'm sure once their new facility is going, this beer will be everywhere.
Ha! That would be epic. Ballast point did it with VAS. I am mostly just hoping for the ipa and pale. I rarely drink them because they only come in bomber format.
Pretty sure the IPA is next up, as I think that is where they'd see the biggest bump in sales due to the 6-pack format. The X and Nut Brown probably would be your next choices in that format. Speedway Stout - would have said you would only see a 4-pack (to make it appear lower priced), but with the precedent Ballast Point set perhaps a 6-pack is being considered.
IPA, X, and Nut Brown seem like good bets, but I'm really just hopping for Anvil 6-packs. I also wonder if they'd start a seasonal line up with 4-packs of Yulesmith and 6-packs of Evil Dead Red and MBV...
I'd love to see all the year round releases move to 4-/6-packs and then have the seasonals, BA beers, and one-offs remain in 750s.
What's the story on Pale 394? I stopped by Alesmith on Saturday and they had just sold out of 394 sixers when I was ready to check out. Are there daily allotments?
Limited production. Not sure if they are out for the time being or if that was some sort of daily allotment.
