Being a dues paying member of the Brewers Association and being considered either "craft" or "non-craft" are not one and the same. Anheuser-Busch, MillerCoors and Craft Brews Alliance (just to name the most obvious) pay B.A. dues for all their multiple breweries, but are not considered "craft". (See B.A. Membership list). I have never gone through the membership, but, in theory, there should likewise be "craft brewers" on their annual list that do not belong to the B.A.

Really? Neither of these brewing companies are considered "craft" by the B.A. ("so far" in the case of Minhas)- no lawsuit or other trademark infringement litigation.

    Craft Brews Alliance http://craftbrew.com/
    Minhas Craft Brewery - http://minhasbrewery.com/home
Well, I think most people (at least, most people who have heard or use the term) still have a broad meaning for the term - "Beers styles other than adjunct light lager, light beer, malt liquor and the few adjunct ales/cream ale left" - and understand that the B.A. has its own definition of what a "Craft Brewer" is. And it doesn't affect their purchases one way or another.

Actually, on the re-vamped B.A. website, it is now pretty easy to find numerous "craft" breweries that don't belong the Brewers Association. Just click on a state and look for the small breweries listed that don't have the "BA" logo on their listing.

Why? Because more people are getting into quality brews and these brands are selling more beer? Give us a valid reason.

Where did I suggest they took any kind of legal action? They have, however, used publicity and PR, such as labeling brewers as "crafty" rather than "craft". The PR campaign can be effective, witness the “Shame on you” letter written by Mr. Marti. Would he have bothered if the labeling of his brewery as "crafty" had no effect?

All beer is malt liquor by definition.

Okay I am going to pass over the whole "What is craft" digression because my ten foot pole is in the wash.
But I will add on a hopeful note that beeradvocate is in the top results (first page and pretty high up) on those searches so hopefully spark an epiphany or some such for folks. And even if it doesn't (shame with so much good beer out here in the world) them that like it can drink it with my blessing. Not that they need it.

To me, craft beer is determined by ingredients and principles. Inbev is not craft beer. Doesn't matter what it is. If it's produced with mainly corn or rice, it's not craft. If the brewer allows their brewery to be bought by AB/Inbev, it's not craft.

Dude i totally disagree on SN- Sam deserves it's own category aside from craft but SN with all of their limited released is still pushing the envelope and doing some great stuff at really reasonable prices.

I would assume that Budweiser and Bud Light are at top because of the Bud Light Whatever contest/irritating set of commercials and to see those old Budweiser Spud McKenzie commercials on youtube. You can also use this rational to justify Miller at number 4 and those old "Less Filling, Tastes Great" commercials. I can still see John Madden screaming at someone like he did when his Raiders were FAIRLY beat in 1972 at Three Rivers Stadium...sorry, yesterday was the 42nd anniversary so it popped in my head (and 42 is the ultimate answer).
