What beer did you try a vertical tasting of that just blew you away? I'm trying to build up my cellar and I would love to have some quality verticals in my future.

Double Bastard all the way from 2003 to 2014 was amazing.

Awesome so should I buy 2 every year and cellar one for a future tasting of multiple years or should I buy like 8 now and try a 2014 DB every year for 8 years.

I didn't have them all at the same time, but I've had a '08, '09, '12, '13, and '14 BCBS in the last few months, and it was really excellent to see the differences there.

BCBS 11-14. Fantastic. Really nice to be able to taste the differences for each year.

<------Undisciplined! I am terrible at sitting on great beers for any length of time. I buy multiples with a vertical in mind, but end up drinking them or sharing with friends.

8 years of Bigfoot barley wine accompanied by various barrel aged versions was nice. And of course, BCBS.

A recent Black Ops tasting was highly disappointing. 2008 - 2014; I would suggest a NOT on this one.

A Black Tuesday vertical was awesome though. We did all years of BT and every year of every BT variant (Gray, Mocha, Rain, etc).

A recent Abyss vertical was also tasty; but not as good as the Black Tuesday.

I should also add that at the same tasting there was founders Backwoods Bastard 2010-2013 and Founders Imperial stout 2011-2013 not to mention that I didn't mean to suggest that Surly Syx and Seviin qualified as being part of that vertical, just that they were present.

Odell Woodcut #1 - #7 as a vertical beer dinner earlier this year. It was amazing

I just did a 4 year Mad Elf vertical and it was cool seeing the cherry fade (spoiler alert: that beer is fantastic at any age).

My favorite though are quads. 3 Philosophers is very easy for me to get, so that is probably my favorite.

    Darkness. '08-'13 was awesome.

Also every few years of Westy XII from '88-'13. That beer changes wonderfully.

I want to say it was overkill but they were all so amazing I just can't complain. There were also other single beers like Firestone Walker Sucaba and XV as well as Stone Wootstout and Wootstout 2.0. I did choose to use 5oz snifter's so I could actually walk home after but I was glad to be in walking distance.

Building my cellar as well, I'm two years in with Bigfoot, Narwhal, and a few others. Hopefully in another year, I can do a three year vertical.
