VBS - Really good. And the smell... Woah! Thanks @PassMeAZima

 

Watch out on doing too much in that side-by-side. 5 of us (really 4.5 as one wasn't drinking very much) put back a horizontal of 5 of the Sucre variants shortly after they came out. Plus a couple lower ABV items. Really good, but I lost about 8 hours of my life afterwards. Not even kidding. Flew back from Portland to Charlotte a couple hours later and I at best vaguely remember getting to the airport, don't really remember boarding, and only kinda/sorta remember getting home (thankfully my wife was more prudent). Made me stop drinking for a solid 48 hours to recuperate

 

OK 2nd try. No sweaters needed in FL ugly or not. I think you can guess which one is me. Circa 1987.

A couple weeks ago at the Brewery, Started showing up in stores last week. Seen it in all local stores in CMC. Also they bottled another run of Devils Reach.

 

I hope you're the one rocking the Michelob.

 

#VBS the craziest day of the year for grocery retail is over! Tomorrow is still crazy, but not as bad.

Damn, well... let's start with the first box. @Kramerbarthomer and I started out with a simple Barrelworks /Crooked Stave swap which expanded a bit to include an Avery bottle I wasn't able to track down and a Casey Saison because I hear such wonderful things. I packed up his box thinking "Yeah, I'm gonna get this guy"... and then his box showed up :O

Santa Fe Brewing Java Imperial Stout - sounds like my kind of beer
Dry Dock Hefeweizen and Hop Abomination - always like finding out about new (to me) breweries

Overall, killer box from @Kramerbarthomer and I'll keeping his information on file for future destruction.

It really does taste like a s'more.

 

The second box I received today comes from @PA-Michigander. I happened across an extra bottle of V014 and did a quick search in the ISO:FT forum, saw a familiar avatar and things kicked off. Nothing really agreed upon outside of "here's a box, if its good enough send me a V014, otherwise send what it's worth".

Box seems less like an offer for a V014 and more of a declaration of war, lol.





White Birch Tres pa' Cuatro - this beer has 4 ratings on BA and 3 on ratebeer, that's crazy and makes it even better that I get to try it
Odell Friek - want, now I'll have two so I won't have to be stingy and I'll actually share with my friends
Upland Darksynth - very much a want
Upland Sour Reserve - also very much a want
Olde Hickory Irish Walker - looks good and I love barleywines
Pizza Boy Sunny Side Up - has been a want since I've seen you guys talking about it here
Founders Backwoods Bastard - permawant
Prairie Christmas Bomb - looks like I'll be having one Christmas even and Christmas day Or maybe I'll split with the brother
Lancaster Milk Stout - sounds good, looking forward to trying
Terrapin Wake n Bake - don't think I had it listed as a want, but it definitely is one
Surly Furious - surprisingly didn't have this as a want, this will be only my second Surly beer
Bell's Winter White - Bell's is making their way to Los Angeles in February so its awesome to get a taste of whats to come

Looking forward to planning the return box for @PA-Michigander, which will go out when its ready

 

That FIS has done some traveling.

 

@devilfluff forget to say Honey Porter is also being bottled and goes on sale at the tap room tomorrow.

That Bretta Rosé is sexy. I enjoyed Berserker too.
